*Insert any popular modern band here* are fucking shit. The lead singer is a c.unt. And the drummer looks like a twat. Generic live4ever forum post about another band. You forgot the comment that is like "All their songs are the same"... or "They're just a cliché of a band"

I don't think many people realise why bands are chosen as support acts... It's to tap into the headline acts demographic. It's solely that business reason. You can listen to my opinion, or ignore it, but I've just got a First Class Degree in Professional Musicianship at the University of Sussex, being taught by those who actually spend their lives working in the industry which is how i got to interview Weller, Daltrey, even Bonehead, and all concurred that almost every decision is made around a table by executives these days, and it makes no sense to organise the insane logistics and cost of a tour just to support a band who's fans Noel has already exploited. From speaking to Bonehead I concluded that the Oasis split was manipulated because, with financial gain from album sales non existant, they wanted to make money by selling twice as many CD's (a noel and liam solo) to the same fans as most would buy albums by both. So instead of selling an Oasis album and splitting it between them financially, they sell twice as many albums. Bonehead said the whole thing had been planned for ages. Then they will reunite when their demand is high and go on a money spinning tour. Not rocket science, but a business plan. And like any business with many employees, you have to have one. Noel will not support Kasabian, despite how much anyone would want them to. I was fine with you until you started with the conclusions about Oasis circa 2009 drawn from a conversation with Bonehead. Correct me if I am wrong. But BDI haven't even sold half the quantity of Oasis' lowest selling album. In what universe is taking a big band playing arenas and stadiums and headlining festivals and splitting them into 2 groups who will probably sell half the album sales of the original group and play to tiny venues while at the same time having to bankroll 2 tours and hire 5 session musicians to top it off a good business decision? Suits don't mess with the formula of the acts that are making them money. And Noel Gallagher probably does have the power to say, "i'm not going to be someone's opening act. Put me in theaters I can fill and leave me to my business" And how the hell would Bonehead be in the know anyways. You, my dear, are no rocket scientist. Oasis were still doing massive gigs in the end. No, not Knebworth every year...but most bands would kill for their level of popularity. They weren't Blur or Pulp or all their other Brit pop contemporaries where interest amongst the fans simply tapered off to the point where they needed to go away to manufacture some nostalgia. They got consistent #1 albums and top 10 hits. They had had 2 #1 singles off their second to last album and 2 top 10s on their last. Bonehead is a moron if he thinks that they needed a cash in that badly.
