Because tweets like this and SHITBAG show great levels of maturity from Liam otherwise. I just don't know why Liam is making it so easy for Noel! And "born liar", "plum from a plum" and all that are really bastions of eloquence, aren't they! They're both being idiots. But what's new there?

They should both finally grow up! At first, Liam's tweets and Noel's quotes seem quite funny, but if you think about it, it is just sad that they both have to be like that...

ok he is making it really easy for noel.
BUT - I just dont know why noel is capatalising this situation. he was never talking about private things that happened inside the oasis camp. why is he talking so negatively about liam now after its all over. he is damaging his own reputation and his brothers. and again its not about the music.

Tbf, people keep acting like Noel just said this yesterday in a live interview. The Mojo interview was done before Noel's wedding, NME was during the press conference, and the press conference was about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
so when some are saying that Noel need stop doing, I'm wondering "doing what". He has already done it. He did it weeks ago.

My point was more...Why is Liam making it so easy for people to see him as a neanderthal?

The moments of truth will come in the coming weeks when he does new interviews or goes on the radio. I do hope that he just sticks with referring everyone to YouTube and just talks about the music. I love hearing Noel talk about music!

I love hearing Noel talk about anything. It's always entertaining. Liam too for that matter.

This idea that Noel has starved Liam of praise over the years is ridiculous. It's not ridiculous. The praise is relatively rare still. And good question is how much of it is directly at Liam? How often he actually showed any of it to him, instead of talking about in random interview(which Liam might or might've not read) once in two years. I remember this text written by a person who was close to both of them who was saying the big problem is Noel not saying things like this directly to Liam. I agree the bit about phonecalls sounds like something that really should've stayed private:/ Btw, I've seen lots of people using word "sad" about this situation. Do you mean sad as in "pathetic" or sad as in "tragic"? For me all of it is just awfully tragic really:/

sad=definitely tragic! they are family. they should keep their mouth shut and keep their family problems private. its so annoying to see 2 brothers in that way, its so annoying to see their fans arguing about 2 of the greatest men in music history, about 2 people that most of us used to love as a part of the band that changed our lives... its not funny anymore. its really sad...

All this mudslinging is gonna make for a great reunion. It's not like Roger Waters and David Gilmour, who did exactly this after splitting Pink Floyd in the early 1980s. Liam and Noel HAVE to speak at some point - it's inevitable. That first pic of them together will be priceless!

Liam must have been acting like a complete dick to make his own brother change his telephone number.

Liam and Noel's interviews more in the tragic category.

Herein lies the difference between Liam and Noel. Liam is obsessed with Noel. Noel is indifferent to Liam (which leads to Liam acting like a three year old trying to get his attention i.e., wielding a guitar like an axe, throwing plums and leaving messages on his phone late at night.) Not quite. The way I see it, they're both obsessed with each other, but most of the attention Noel gives Liam is negative. This has the effect of keeping Liam's attention focused on Noel, as he tries to extract some form of positive feedback. Noel likes the attention as long as it's not too obnoxious, but when it does get obnoxious he reacts negatively. This doesn't work, though, because Liam is used to a negative reaction, and just tries harder/bothers Noel more. And so it escalates. It's always been like that, and from what I've read in books and stuff it comes from even childhood... Whilst Noel is a very reserved person and doesn't really like to show his emotions Liam is very affective and he needs everybody's attention. He might have had it from everyone but never from Noel, who I personally believe he loves madly. That's where I think all the anger comes from, Noel's indifference to him, and I think it's a bit sad really. I've even seen Noel say in an interview that even when Liam showed him his songs, Noel would be like "it's alright, yeah." - he kept constantly trying to impress him but he never could, and that's got to be frustrating. I think Noel is actually impressed by Liam, but he refuses to show it much of the time because he enjoys having the upper hand in the relationship. He seems aware that Liam really looks to him for approval, and if he doesn't give approval this keeps Liam dependent on him to some degree (hanging on his opinions), which I think he likes, as it keeps him in control. It also guarantees that Liam isn't going to leave - Noel is the one who retains that option. Make sense to anyone else?

I think that the idea that Noel is the way he is to keep the upper hand isn't quite right.
I think that Noel is just super independent and really couldn't care less about peoples opinions. Liam is the opposite, we've heard it again and again from Noel, Gem, and Andy that Liam used the show off his songs and need to be encouraged. I don't think that Noel is willing to bend his more stoic approach to life to accomodate Liam's neediness.
I think some of it is that Noel is a very private person emotionally. I think that he thinks the idea of having to constantly tell someone that something is good or that he is proud of him is a bit weird. But that is the kind of thing that Liam would probably love to hear from him
It's a bit like that emotionally reserved dad that never tells you he loves you. He assumes that you know he does because of what he does for you.
I think Noel thinks a bit like that. "I don't have to hold your hand and rave about your tunes. Of course I think you are a good songwriter...I've been putting 3 of your tunes on the album...it's that enough reassurance?"
