On the other hand, Noel released some truly shocking album tracks--ICSAL, FON, PAITM, GOYHHL, etc, while leaving some real good ones for b-sides and demos. Here's the interesting thing. If you actually listened to the demos of all these tracks, they actually sound pretty decent. Obviously throw away tracks, but still, decent. From the demos I can sort-of understand why they were included for albums. But something went very very wrong with these tunes because the final versions are shocking.

Nice to see some good posts after yet another shit Deasy55 post. Fuck off you ignorant piece of shit. The album went in at #3 and was the biggest selling #3 for the past ten years. Where do you come up with this rubbish? It wasn't even the biggest selling #3 album in the 3 months leading up to the album. Go post on the official Beady Eye forum if you want to post made up fanboy shite and get away with it. Arrivederci.

It's hilarious how people think other people think it's either or.

Noel is going to be more successful than Beady Eye because he's generally recognized as one of the greatest songwriters of the last thirty years while Liam is not. You think, no?
Jesus Christ, do you think the vast majority of the record buying public is choosing up sides and stubbornly refusing to buy the last Beady Eye album because they don't want to upset the apple cart on Team Noel. No sane person thinks that way. I'll grant you that some insane people (some of which reside on this board) think that way, but thankfully, it is not nearly enough to make one iota of difference as far as overall chart performance goes.

What someone said about 90 percent of Oasis fans not buying Beady Eye stuff because they "picked Noel" is the joke of the century.

I will be enthusiastic about BDI when one of them manages to write a song with an actual melody and chorus, as opposed to just repeated refrains.

Agreed and all credits to Noel for writing all those great tunes (!) but you have to keep in mind that generally people don't even know who's the songwriter of a band. Most of the time the singer get's most of the attention/credit by the general public. The reason people love Noel so much is more because he sang songs like DLBIA etc. Emotional songs that everyone connects with. Jesus Christ, do you think the vast majority of the record buying public is choosing up sides and stubbornly refusing to buy the last Beady Eye album because they don't want to upset the apple cart on Team Noel. I certainly hope not but I'm pretty sick of the 'having to pick sides' on here and everywhere else. It's like in every single post someone makes they have to put down one of the two.It seems that one always has to be compared to the other. On youtube/facebook/nme/... the comments are full of it. I'm sick of it really! And LIB I know that maybe I can sound like a fangirl but whatever, I'm here because I'm a fan. And at least I'm still a fan of both!

I would hazard a guess that the majority of Oasis fans know who writes the songs. The ones who like WW and Live Forever and that's it, maybe not. But those who have stuck all the way through DOYS probably know. Noel mentions it in every interview fer chissakes As for the "Team" shit, fair enough, songbird...I get sick of it too. No need to say "Beady Eye Sux" twelve times on Noel's youtube page, unless you're 11 years old getting your jollies. On the other hand, one can't state an opinion on either Liam or Noel without being accused of being on a Team. For me, the fact remains that as much as I admit that Oasis wouldn't have been close to the same without Liam (well, they wouldn't have been Oasis), I've found him to be less crucial in the past decade. His singing on the early albums, especially MG, is fantastic. But from HC on, it's been pretty subpar, with only a few top notch performances (TT, TSOTL, Lyla). And let's not bring up the live performances. Hence, I'm far more jacked to hear Noel's stuff. Doesn't mean I want to be associated with Team Noel.

When I meet other Oasis fans they always seem to ask "who do you prefer Noel or Liam?" you shouldn't have to take sides, it's ridiculous! Say what you want about Pete Doherty but he summed it up perfectly when he said Noel was a poet and Liam was a town crier. I'm fed up with people saying which one lead to their demise or which one was the less crucial, I didn't see no demise. They went out as one of the biggest bands in the world and I'm sure for many people on here left a big impression on our lives. But...despite all that I admit argument is enjoyable to take part in and watch, so continue please!

Preference isn't the same as taking sides.
They are different men with different appeals. It's normal to prefer one or the other.

I think that the opinion of Liam being less talented and a bit of a loudmouth isn't fully a consequence of the split.
