If Mojo is right in its description that it is Wonderwall-esque, than I can see why Noel or his management would want to release it as the first US single.

Maybe the record label in America is pushing for a different single. I have no issue with it. this is most likely what's happening. i know a lot of you love this song and most of you who like in the UK and other parts of Europe think this is "catchy" and a "good lead off single" but here in America, TDOYAM has no chance in hell. Choosing a different track for the U.S. is a smart(and obvious) move.

i definitely like that demo way more than TDOYAM but... it seems to lack a chorus. Obviously it's a just a soundcheck but the chorus seems to be "laaaaa la la la laaa...." Noel must've definitely worked on that track extensively. In any case there'd be nothing wrong with that, a song can be great without having a proper chorus(Wigwam comes to mind).
1 month away.... can't wait to hear it

Imagine you're not a die-hard fan of Noel or Oasis and you see the first two singles are called: "The Death Of You And Me" and "If I Had A Gun". I would definitely be worried about Noel Gallagher

If the album version of Stop the Clocks is as good as Jamie and XTRMNTRSCREAM make it out to be, I hope that gets put out as a single at some point after the album is released.

I think all the songs we are aware of from the soundchecks etc are all worthy of single material, im sure i read yesterday that Noel had mentioned there is alot more "singles" on this album than DOYS. I think this album is gonna be very Epc

"The forgive me if I spoke too soon" is definitely the chorus as it is repeated after the "la la las" so that makes me think the la la las will be where the solo type bit will be. So itll go verse, chorus (forgive me i spoke too soon part), verse, chorus, solo type bit with la la las, chorus. So basically we haven't heard any part of the verses! I hope that makes sense...although we do have some lyrics from what (i presume) is a verse.

Don't know if it means anything, but the oasisnews Twitter account seems to think that Noel will be announcing more things throughout the rest of the week. They tweeted it about 2 hrs ago.

No one knew at the time as 102.1 the edge (Toronto) was the first radio station to play the song Falling Down (pretty impressive they were given the first play - obviously they have some contact with Oasis management). I once asked Bookie how the station gets all their information about Oasis and he replied saying it is all about building relationships.....remember that 6-8 song acoustic set that oasis played (one way road included) I was there with about 15 others and that was Bookie who did the interview and most likely set it up. Also 102.1 the Edge broadcasted Noel's acoustic tour live on the radio from the Danforth Music Hall I trust his word 100%...check out his bio which lists Oasis as one of his favorite groups.... www.edge.ca/DJsandShows/DaveBookman/Bio.aspx

So what is going to happen in the states for the next couple weeks then?
The song is out there in Europe. Are the North American radio stations allowed to play it? Or do they not even have anything by Noel because there has been no North American release?

Not sure you can be 100% when he was wrong about Falling Down (Chemical Brothers Remix) being an actual album track. I know no one knew for sure at the time but based on everything the band said in the winter of 2007/2008 while recording the album it wasn't going to sound like that and it didn't. I do believe him about IIHAG however. The sooner he plays it...the better!
