The reaction over virtually every website (non-oasis included) I've observed has been overwhelmingly positive to ecstatic, an example: www.nme.com/news/noel-gallagher/58231but I'm sure they're all "fanboys" or mash employees too. many times the biggest fans are the hardest to please, ironically. If you actually read those quotes on that site they do sound a lot like Noel fanboys who couldn't wait to get a dig in at Beady Eye.....Jusr sayin'.

I think it's almost too easy or simple to call this an "Idle jr.". I think that most people are saying that because it's one of the few Noel songs that are in this style. And people compare what they know.
I think they share some similarities, such as the acoustic intro, and the falsettos. But I also believe that there are clear differences. TDOYAM differs from Idle in it's vibe, in it's production, and in the well of influrbxws that it's being drawn from.
I think Idle is the easy comparison. But that doesn't make that comparison completely right.

But I will say that I've played it to 5 people who either aren't big Oasis fans, or don't really know who Oasis are, and they liked the song. Not a proof of anything, but I don't think that Noel "fanboys" are the only ones who might like this song.

man... i really can't figure you out. Sometimes you seem like a smart guy, very objective(even though i may disagree with what you're saying). Then there are times when you act (or post, rather)like a fanboy. Like when i post stuff you agree with you're all cool and don't even acknowledge my post, but when i say something you don't agree with, you act like a complete fag. whatever man... you say this track is better than **almost** all the BDI songs, well then, so you're saying that Beady Eye has better songs than TDOYAM. that's cool. I agree with you then lol That was the best response you had? You don't reply to my good posts, you act like a fag, and you're a fanboy. You couldn't debate me, so you resulted to name calling. If I fit the definition of a fanboy, okay. That's your definition. Apparently whoever like this song is not being purely objective. It's not like I've called it the second coming. Or better than the Masterplan. I have it as a solid 8/10. Nice tune. I only had 4 Beady Eyes tracks at a 8/10 or above. The rest were 7/10, or 7.5/10. So yes, I believe that this song is better than almost all the Beady Eye songs. I've always respected your opinion. Which is why many times I've chosen to ignore the posts that I don't like from you. And you have to admit, over the last 48 hours, I could have chosen from a lot (if I'm a Noel fanboy like you say I am). But when you resort to name calling, rather than proving your point, it makes you look rather small. I'm hoping this a bad day for you. Next time you want to debate me. Come at me with something better than, you never respond to my goof posts, you act like a fag, you're a fanboy. now i really don't get you... i said i agreed with you(even i said so in a cheeky way), i said you act like an ass at times, i said i couldn't figure you out. You read "you're a fag"/ "you're a fanboy". I do not "want to debate" you, we're just talking here. You're the one that called me out, not the other way around. I basically took the high road when i posted "whatever man...". Maybe you missed that line? for cryin' out loud , i think i said like 10 times that i actually LIKE THE SONG, but it's just an ok song for me. How hard a concept is that to comprehend? boyoboy... now am i "just talking" with everyone else? no, there are some serious silliness going around on this very thread and when i get into it with one of them they know it right away. I'm not this mellow when i am "debating"(lol) or arguing with someone.

I like it. I'm not going to say I love it cause I'd be lying. I think it's more than good and it hasn't disappointed me but it's not going to be an epic song I think. That's all. I've been replaying it since I woke up so I guess it has something.

Listened to it (and nothing else) several times this morning, have had TIOBI stuck in my head all day...
Just given it another whirl and it's still sounding very by the numbers and bland to me.

of course there will be people who love this tune. i think i already said it but some people are just... ugh.... what are we talking about here? there are people who prefer jazz to rock, there are those who like hip hop better than country DUH!? anything is possible, it's relative, like anything in life really.
not everyone who likes this track is a noel fanboy, in what head could this actually.... JEEZ!! fanboys are the ones claiming that this is better than anything BDI's put out. also there's those saying this is a "masterpiece" or that this is "up there with Noel's best stuff" . Couldn't be more clear, good god.

That doesn't disappear because you say "whatever man". That's like saying "I think you're an idiot, and a hypocrite, but whatever man.....I agree with you". It doesn't change anything. And I don't think I've attacked you for not liking the song as everyone else. I've asked that you respect others opinions. But I haven't attacked you on your musical taste. But I'm done. I feel like I've talked about this enough.

I, like Spaneli, have played it to a few people who only merely appreciate Oasis (and that's mainly WTSMG - I'm in the US, after all), and it's gotten a pretty good reaction. The New Orleans jazz bit really appeals as the standout of it, too.
It's no masterpiece, but it's very very good. And It's gotten better with every listen. 8/10 seems fair, on reflection.

Is a sweet song, but I'm not too convinced about the arrangement. Love the guitar bit though

It's exactly what I was expecting. Modern day Noel by numbers with a decent melody. I don't have strong feelings for it either way - it's decent, nothing more. I think it's confirmed what we already knew more than anything else. this x 1000000000000000000000000

Of course not, and I do like the song, I just don't think it's anything special and certainly not better than most of BDI's stuff. Noels album may tell a different tale but not this one song. On a similar note, my wife, who fancies the arse of Noel and loves his music (mostly hates anything with Liam singing) said she's massively disappointed and it grates on her. Definitely not a "everybody loves it" kind of track.

Is it better than some? yeah, DUH! BDI has some pretty bad songs(or at least songs i really dislike). Beatles and Stones and Bring The Light come to mind. i don't care for what's musically or lyrically better. what i like i consider better than what i don't like. It's as simple as that. Now, i do like this song, but i don't like it as much as say 3RC just to name one off the album or even BDI's latest b side. And to answer your second question, i do play some guitar and also the piano(just starting with it tho).
