So, I was waiting excitedly, like everybody else, last week. Thought it was great that finally something had happened, and also it seemed that FINALLY some measures would be made online. An official website, youtube channel, twitter etc. It seemed like someone finally realised they could keep the fans, or even make new by just doing a little work online. My reason for thinking this? The press conference would be live updated on twitter. If any of you saw the live updates, you will know that either the person doing it fell asleep after Noel mentioned the name, or they simply dont know what live update means. I also noted that the youtube channel was created and then left empty. I, for one, signed up for something on noelgallagher.com i dont know what is. I thought there would be a forum you could log in to or something, but no emails, no links or info on the site. So, im not even bothered checking official channels for info, and i doubt very much i will come back. So, hoping that someone from the management reads this, my message is, you had the right ideas, but blew it. We dont expect daily updates, but if you spent just a little ressources (which imo you pretended you would) you could have had a huge, very loyal community within reach, with tons of knowledge, stories, media and so on. It seems music management STILL doesnt recognise the internet (or doesnt know it?) And creating all these sites, and then going on holiday or whatever seems like taking the piss on the fans. Good job!

I know, and i dont expect daily updates or anything, but that twitter liveupdate was a joke. Beyond a joke. And what are you signing up to on noelgallagher.com? And why make a youtube channel now if you dont use it? They could have used all this to build momentum, to have people pass the word etc. Instead it seems they're pretending to do a lot more, but really its even worse than oasis was internetwise.

I get what you're saying. They definitely need to take better advantage of the changing times. They seem to be a step behind when it comes to an online presence...though it is a lot more work than many people realize.

It's not like they could post every word. Also, the tracklisting would have been too awkward and long to post on twitter. 2) You are signing up to noelgallagher.com to join the mailing list. Beady Eye had the same sign up and we received nothing for a few months. You are not signing up for instant information. 3) They made a youtube channel and had the video of the press conference up within 24 hours, so they did use it. I'm not sure what else you expect on it. A video of Noel having a shit? 4) This is the same management that Oasis had and the same management as Beady Eye. 5) You have no patience and appear to be an idiot. 6) Enjoy the rest of your day

1. If you advertise that you're gonna liveupdate something, you cant do the "The game started - heres a pic - the game ended thing". They could have written "Noel has just given the tracklist - check back tomorrow to see the full press conference" They could have written whos in the band. They could have written that he's now talking of how oasis split. What they did was not a liveupdate.
2. Would be nice to have a confirmation email, welcome to noelgallagher.com or something, we will send out mailings when something exciting happens. Everybody else does it.
3. Ill take back my criticism of that, makes sense, just never bothered to check back because i was already so disappointed with the whole thing.
4. Yes, and they have always been absolutely shit to use the opportunities internet brings. I thought that would change with all the official sites for Noel. I was wrong.
5. Im an oasis fan, i've learned to have patience. You on the other hand seems not to, as everything i've written is explained why i have that opinion.
6. You too

Agree with TheShakermaker! Oasis/Beady Eye / Noels management has always been pretty poor compared to other bands who are that huge. Still surprised how they managed to get BDI playing on Letterman after doing no Late Night Shows in North America on the last 2 albums. They're service on the homepage / Facebook is lousy. Haven't listened some of the festival shows in Europe for some weeks after they were announced before etc. Was also shocked when Noel asked his Manager at the press conference and it looked like he didn't knew the date of Noels first gig remember when Noel was writing on his blog that he wasn't happy with the people who were working around on their last tour. But don't get it why he's still going with them.

I was hoping they'd be more canny than w/ BDI.
I was hoping it'd all happen really fast when they decided to start moving. In these days of internet this practice of waiting ages between media moves is maddening. Everyone who really cares knows within daysz

I just think everone wanted a single on that day, and we didn't get it so everyone is crying out things.
Mostly everyone anyways.
I'm happy with what went down, we got a lot of info... and the music will come soon... just not now

jean jacques rousseau once said, "patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet." yeah. that. ahahahaha! But yeah, the inpatients on this forum is pretty weird. Maybe it's just being a time of high speed news, but people need to take a chill pill and learn to wait. 1-2 weeks of waiting will not kill anyone. People were getting pissed that it was taking so long just to get some Noel news, but the second we got some people forgot how long it took to get it. News will come. Be patient.

As a media guy, I can say that when they decide to get it going all media touch points should erupt as one. Honestly from a marketing standpoint though they're holding the suspense too long. Should've given a taste after the press conference then made us wait it out

Henry VIII must have sucked all your tiger blood. yeah, well i don't even know if i'm christian by definition. i certainly don't believe in organized religion, and i'm open to the idea that there could be a God, or something much greater than myself, if only for the entertainment purposes alone. i only say i'm an awful person by my standards. there's certainly a lot worse people out there than me.

I feel a little misunderstood here..
The point i want to make is: Oasis fans has always been VERY loyal, official oasis channels online has always been VERY bad. They decided to have the press conference when they did, to build up interest, they could have waited with it a month if they're not ready. They could have waited for a month with the launching of all the websites and still had the press conference. They should have known that people would follow the twitter updates, and its just ridiculous to not update it more and try to make people interested to come back for the video later if you're there anyway. They must have wanted people to follow it, when they decided to do it.
Why launch the sites now if they dont have a plan for them? Oasis fans have really good sites online, this one for example, with dedicated fans, but none of them are official. Why not try to bring the fans in to an official site? They could have made a forum, had little interviews with people around noel. Competitions for the best noel pic, noel story, anything really. Something like that would have made the fans check back, spread the word and build up anticipation for the album. Instead, they launched a lot of websites, that seems to just be launched without a plan, and it doesnt change a thing for the fans, we still use the same channels for info, none of which are official. Im sure there's gonna be some activity when we near the time of the single and so on, but why launch all the sites if they're not gonna use them to gather interest?

I don't think the official noelgallagher.com site is fully functional yet. I think it's a bit like that intermediate Page that BDI had. So judging it too harshly is a bit premature. I
