Noel said at his press conference that there isn't a guitar solo until track 6? Well...correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't '(I wanna live in a dream in my) Record Machine have a guitar solo on it and thats track 5! I'm thinking this track has been totally re-worked!

Maybe there are fuckin' huge 4 orchestras instead, making "A Day In The Life" sound like a whistling gypsy. I wouldn't mind that.

Maybe Noel changed RM drastically. I doubt that, though. My guess is that he was either exaggerating a bit, or had the tracklisting mixed up in his mind. We'll see soon enough......

We have only heard a demo. And I'm pretty sure that demo didn't have a solo (I haven't listened to it in ages so I could be wrong). Also, Noel may have simply just miscounted or made a slip of the tongue.

While I might be way off with this point I always felt that the solo in the demo sounded a lot like Gem's style of playing (similar to the solos he played for the acoustic gigs) so maybe he recorded it with Gem and then decided to remove his solo. I think the Noel getting the tracklisting wrong is more likely though.

He said that there was no guitar solo till track 6 right? Why couldn't he just play the solo with another instrument? There's a good possibilty that there is a solo, just not one played by guitar.

I'm not disappointed. Noel's guitar solos aren't exactly amazing. He does much better with the rest of the song.

I find it interesting that most of Noel's best guitar solos are from his early days. The one in Live Forever just sings, and his best written guitar solo by far (in my opnion) is the one in Don't Look Back In Anger. After he kind of went overboard with them in Be Here Now, he rarely uses guitar solos anymore, and when he does they all sound kind of meager.

If there is, indeed, no on RM I reckon it will be filled with an orchestra and the choir (hopefully!!)

I don't think Noel was mistaken with the "No solos till track 6" comment. He said it twice, after all. Also, he mentioned there were only two guitar solos on the entire album.
