Yeah it was nothing to with Noel at all, you keep telling yourself that. Does that help you sleep at night? Learn how to read, dipshit. How much more obvious can it be that I'm alluding to Noel not wishing to relinquish control of the bands songs? His selfishness and really, quality control, coupled with the monkey's existence had much to do with him moving on and I've ALWAYS maintained that there was a good chance he was waiting for the next blow-up with Liam to tie the bow on a perfect time to walk away. There, is that straight-ahead enough? I'd be willing to bet a considerable sum of money that his solo effort will eclipse the overall quality of the last 3 lps, REGARDLESS of the direction it takes. Why are you so rattled all the time? Must be the frustrated singer in you. If he was that selfish and that much of a control freak and he had a great set of songs for Oasis hidden away its clear LAG's contributions would have been less. This isn't what occurred and to me indicates that wasn't the case. I still think he has really good stuff he's been collecting over the years to put out a really good album though. Hopefully he'll do the business.

Does anyone think a tour date in Milwaukee will get announced tomorrow? I really don't think it's because I'm from Milwaukee that I find this to be lame, I really just find it lame because it is. Enough already. I know first hand that a sum credible radio-folk in this city were duped/misinformed on the point and to continue to stretch it out merely exploits a well-of-humor that must have run dry eons ago. I realize this may have provoked further posts, but I had to try.

This album will signal if Noel has still got the magic. The last album he wrote all by himself was SOTSOG. So we can blame Noel for Little James then? Sorry, forgot about that... ;P And Dark Side Of The Moon is widely regarded as one of the best concept albums written. I think Noel would be happy with an album that gets close to that;) All will be revealed tomorrow, cant wait;)) Lets hope some material is released too.

Liam and the get-along-gangs' contributions were dependent upon Noel's lack of songs and not at all upon Liam's insistence/new found songwriting "ability" coupled with Noel's desire to keep the peace within the band (at least initially). Really, the were slight too when you consider they represented 75% of the band but authored about 40% of the music over (3) LPs. Noel: "Fuck off, the lot of you. You get one song per album and that's it." Yep. I'm certain when Noel's ears were graced with the likes of "The Nature of Reality, Aint Got Nothin, and Soldier On he was gobsmacked and said "how the fuk could I ever top these!" Or maybe he just acquiesced to the fact that he had opened a can of worms so to speak and 4-6 LAG songs per album would be the new mandate. Who could blame him entirely either, as their contribution to DBTT towered over the filth the let loose upon DOYS.

Noel picked Nature Of Reality out of Andy's 4 or 5 songs didn't he? And didn't they include Four Letter Word?

Right, as if FLW is anything other than a forgettable single that isn't played by anyone outside of a BDI disciple.

Right, as if FLW is anything other than a forgettable single that isn't played by anyone outside of a BDI disciple. It is better than TNOR. How do we know it was on that tape? Have LAG said so? Did I miss that? I haven't been paying that much attention to the BDI camp since the album release. It's all a bit middle of the road and not worth obsessing about.

^ Dead on gdforever. Sad reality of that album too. 2-3 songs worth listening to on occasion, 6 months down the road.
I'll give him the point though, and perhaps Noel screwed the pooch on that one too. You'd think a producer with a sack would not have let that one slip, but, sigh, I think Noel's power has a way of influencing everyone.
I mean, who the hell is Dave Sardy to tell Noel what's going on his album?!

Andy said he had 4 or 5 songs and Noel picked TNOR I thought that was in an interview and I thought he said that FLW was written around that time. I could be wrong, hence the question marks. Just things i think i remember reading on here in the interviews around the time of release. Although saying that anything Andy has written is for BDI is better than the TNOR which is dreadful.

Not sure about FLW, but I remember reading that Millionaire was one of the songs Noel rejected in favour of TNOR? I'd make that decision 100 times over. Millionaire is garbage. TNOR gets too much hate on here. It's not near as bad as everyone claims. It's in the bottom tier of Oasis tunes, but not the shithole its made out to be.
