First and foremost in my opinion, Liam needs to drop the Lennon nasal attempt. He's convinced himself he sounds like Lennon singing this way. But go listen to Lennon's records he does not force it out of his nostrils.
I just think it's a shame cause Liam has the best voice going. He ain't the best singer anymore but his voice is still special, especially in a studio. I think they nailed The Roller pretty well good. His voice sounds good, singing from his stomach not through his nose. Got the summer-y guitars, good lyrics in the verse. I think their best tune.
Morning sun could have been a cracker too many delays on the voice. The Beat Goes On is a pretty cool song as well.
I'm with everyone else though the stripped back B-Sides sound amazing. A big step away from Oasis. World Outside my Room, love that song for some reason. Liam sounds nice chiming along it.
I think they have the potential to have a good solid second album. But yeah ALWAYS quality of quantity. Otherwise you disregard songs that don't hit you straight away.
Hope they nail it.

Honestly they shouldn't compare themselves to Noel. Why? Because it's unrealistic. Noel is so far ahead of them that it'd take the rest of their lives to ever even approach what he's done. Actually, that's not true. They can't ever approach what Noel's done. So they should just keep their heads down and make sure the next one's an improvement on DGSS. The odd's would say you were right, but nothing is set in stone. I look forward to what they come up to next. Well, considering the gap is widening with their post-Oasis material instead of closing...it's pretty set in stone. It's just a question of--when all their careers are over--how far behind Noel did they end up? Of course that's if you compare BDI to Noel. I'd rather just enjoy BDI as a sturdy, reliable rock 'n' roll band.

The second album should be heavier, rocker and more psychedelic. It´d be amazing to hear Liam singing something raw and powerful like a AC/DC song. I mean, the rock music not the high notes and yelling singing. Plus, Beady Eye needs some stadium anthems.

While I think it is unlikely they can ever match Noel's songwriting I don't think it impossible by any means. But if you have a crystal ball you are not telling me about, any chance you could give me tomorrows lottery numbers? Its a 100 million pound for fucks sake.

It's set in stone in the eyes of nearly anyone on the planet is what I'm saying. If you really think BDI will come out with 17 songs that can stand toe-to-toe with Supersonic, Live Forever, Slide Away, Wonderwall, DLBIA, Cast No Shadow, Champagne Supernova, The Masterplan, Some Might Say, Morning Glory, Acquiesce, Talk Tonight, Listen Up, Rockin' Chair, Half The World Away, Stay Young, Underneath The Sky, Don't Go Away, and Stand By Me then more power to you. It's not going to happen.
If you need a crystal ball to figure that out then you're hopelessly lost, my friend.

Well i thought we were talking about Noel's solo output rather than prior songs that I wouldn't include as Liam had a big hand in making them what they were anyway. So yeah I prefer BDI songs to all of Noel's released songs so far. I only said it was unlikely, but not impossible.

IMO, If Noel will go all experimental on his second album then I want a very raw rock and roll album from BE.

I actually want Liam to write more poppier stuff in vein of most of his DOYS period stuff, really driving piano music. That along with more guitars. And melodies. The thing about early Oasis was that they combined a lot of driving rock with Noel's melodicism and created great stuff and when Liam first compared Oasis as "pop" to what BDI was to be, I was really excited. I'm hoping they can go along in that line of thought.

You're all talking as if the album was a disappointment and a failure, which it wasn't. It's going to stand as one of 2011's best albums, with Colour of the Trap and Suck it and See. Would they have managed to get a record contract without playing a gig if the music was so shite? I don't think so.

Yes, it was quite a feat for Beady Eye to get a record contract with...Beady Eye Records.

I didn't mean I prefer every BDI song to what Noels put out so far. I'd be quite happy if I never heard FA, SOTEOTN and WUD ever again. But nothing so far is as good as FLW, ML, or BTL for me.

For me the key will be the fact that this will be made up of new material. I really enjoy different gear still speeding and it has some songs that will be played on my pod for years to come, however the idea of them three recording an album from scratch with no left over songs really excites me. I have complete faith that this album will be fantastic.

I think it will definitely be better than DGSS, they seem to be improving all the time. Almost more exciting than Noel's new stuff because although it probably won't be better, there's almost no chance of hearing any song we've heard of or bits of before. Can't wait to see what they come out with!
