A coupel of B-sides have been more acoustic-y but not necessarily ballads, so wouldn't be surprised to see them go down that route. They have said their new songs are "anthems" though, and I wouldn't say no to a couple more Roller-esque singalongs

Does anyone know if the bsides have been recorded as they've gone on. I think so. We know for sure with In The Bubble... but I think it's the same with Two Of a Kind and World Outside My Room.

For some reason, I expect Liam to look back at old things that worked, and might be tempted to throw a Supersonic or Columbia like song in there. Something not overly distinctive Oasis a la Some Might Say, but something powerful, different, that might just make the critics and fans look at the album a little more deeply.
And probably another Wigwam.
As for the general direction, I think a bit more guitars, a little less Lennon. (which sucks because The Roller is the best song)

I think it will be even more Lennon than usual. It will be recorded by Geoff Emerick in Abbey Road Studio 2 using the Redd mixing desk the early Beatles used. It will be recorded live to 2-track using little in the way of overdubs. Just like on Please Please Me, the whole album will be fed through an echo chamber, delayed, and then mixed back in with the rest of the album.
Andy will play a 1960s Rickenbacker, and Gem will play an Epiphone Casino. Paul McCartney himself will be on Hofner Violin bass and will co-write all the songs with Liam. The final album will only be available on vinyl.
In mono.

I'm just happy as hell to hear Liam going on about recording album #2 in a few months. Said it before, was gutted when Oasis split up but loving all the tunes we're getting, Noelie G in a month or so, Beady Eye next year hopefully. Should be good.

Liam was actually thinking about ringing up Zak Starkey to play a few bongo solos on the album, but instead got him to be a support act for a few of the live shows. True story.

I'd want Liam to write something like Born On A Different Cloud again.

i dont like the album too much. BTL has grown on me since the abbey road performance, and the roller is still growing. TBGO and basically all andy's stuff has been a huge disappointment to me. I expected (or hoped at least) him to step up, write songs like we know he can (tuts, step into my world, vapour trail).. For the next album, i hope they work a bit more on their sound. To me, the rhytm has been too thin with all this single line, single coil guitar. Next, i'd prefer Liam and Gem's ideas to andy's.. tbwtl was a great psychedelic tune, i think Gem has much more in him. And Liam should just continue. I reckon every 3rd or 4th song from him will be new and interesting.

The only worry I have is that Liam keeps banging on about a 'summer album'.
So one of two things could easily happen; the album is started too late to be released in summer so they leave it for the following summer which happened with DGSS (whether that was intentional or not I don't know), or even if it can be finished it may have to be held back if management do not want it to clash with the second Noel record.
I hope none of the above occur, but have a horrible feeling that the first may though. August is the last summer month in my eyes and borderline at that and I don't think they can have a record that is written, recorded and out for August or earlier.

If it isn't finished by summer they are not going to be waiting until next summer. I don't think he is literally meaning they are looking to make an album that should be listened to in the summer.
And it probably won't be ready for summer. They aren't even going to start recording until the new year and I think their process is still evolving.

they really need to get rid of that Lennon sound and need to make more shit like Four Letter Word, a few of the songs on DGSS sound outdated and it was only released in February

I'm not really bothered which way it goes as long as there is some direction. I like DGSS but I think it suffers a bit because its basically a mish-mash of old Oasis songs that were lying about. It should have more of a flow to it if the songs are written around the same time.
Having said that, my favourite songs are Four Letter Word, Millionaire, Wigwam and the Morning Son, and my least favourite are Three Ring Circus and Wind Up Dream, so make what you like of that.

Personally i hope they don't have as many songs on the next album. I just think 13 songs is to much for this band. I'd prefer quality over quantity please.

they should create their own sound and possibly add a few good songs on it. can't stand their debut. it's horrible. i don't feel the passion or personality on it. nonsens album.

I think that if anyone is going to have more songs on there, it will be Andy... And I think it will be a bit like DM... But not as good... With some big, anthemic rockers... But then some more like DD and MWC that are toned down a bit, like the DGSS B-Sides

More like the b-sides, less like the a-sides, please. Completely agree, for me the songs on the album were Oasis cast offs and stuff they had lying around. The b sides sound like a band more comfortable in their style and direction, a lot more varied and laid back. I think the 2nd album will be very much the work of Andy Bell, not in a song writing sense as they'll share that out but I think he'll mould the sound and feel to it

They will need to pull something special out the bag, If I Had A Gun alone is far better than anything they've done so far

Honestly they shouldn't compare themselves to Noel. Why? Because it's unrealistic. Noel is so far ahead of them that it'd take the rest of their lives to ever even approach what he's done. Actually, that's not true. They can't ever approach what Noel's done. So they should just keep their heads down and make sure the next one's an improvement on DGSS.

They need to do an album with all killer no filler if they want to gain more fans.

FLW is by far the best rock song on the album and I want them to go in that direction again. Liam's always talking about BDI being a proper R&R band...show us some upbeat, heavy rockers! This.

They need to do an album with all killer no filler if they want to gain more fans. We fans would really like that, but really, to gain more fans you don't need a consistent album. Just one or two really big hits would do. Not saying I prefer that, not at all, but many people no longer care about albums as a whole. Saying that, I'd rather they had a loyal fanbase, than a bandwagon fanbase, which would happen if they had just a couple of hits.
