Number 71 it came in at in the singles charts, not very good at all but it had no advertisement at all, Liam isn't arsed about the charts any more as we all know.

shame tho as we all would have liked to have seen beady eye get some top 10 hits but never mind the fans will still follow the band and im sure as you say liam aint arsed!

That's how it is now unfortunately. Should have been a number one single as well, but hey, it was in my world. Wonder how Noel will do in the charts....

i personally would have released kill for a dream as the single,i think it could have been quite an anthem but without advertisement it would have proberbly endend up the same way. the only thing that really annoys me is the lack of radio airplay!!

I think Four Letter Word should have done way better but got no promo like the rest except The Roller. Millionaire seems a bit of a love/hate song. At least the album got 3 which is decent.

At least the album got 3 which is decent. Exactly. Who the hell buys singles anyways? I have never in my life bought any singles exept for the Beady Eye vinyls right now, but that's only because they're these limited numbered editions. And because they're on vinyl.

Noel's singles and albums will chart much higher than Beady Eye's.
Not necessarily because they are better but because Noel seems to care more about chart positions and I just think that more people will be interested in his stuff as he will no doubt release anthems.
I'd expect him to get a number one album and a couple of top ten hits at least.

BDI lacks quality hits. Their album is full of average tunes with a couple of slightly above average ones. Not surprised at all by this news.

I haven't even heard Millionaire on the radio yet. Regardless of that, I'm happy in the knowledge that Beady Eye are a quality band.

it was actually #37 after monday sales.
not surprised by this.. the airplay has been very very poor.. only managed to go in to the bottom 90's of the uk airplay chart for one week!! thats pretty terrible..
the video is getting a bit of tv time currently #63 in the uk tv charts up 3 from last week.

beady eye is the most successful uk rock band that year.better sales n charts positions than the other bands.only elbow did better (and foo fighters - US). arctic monkeys had the same problem with their first single, the strokes "where s their single? too, radiohead's album only #7 !!! etc.
at least we see their songs somewhere in the charts...
it s like a miracle to see a rock song in the charts these days.indie audience seems to work better with illegal/free downloading...
i d love to see their album selling more n have some hits, cause i BELIEVE its an excellent album full of hits. "kill for a dream" & "the beat goes on" with a good promotion could be massive singles

Noels debut single will most certainly chart higher than any BDI song if he doesnt release it for free IMO

I'm surprised they don't just release albums - and forget about singles. The single chart is mostly made up of that saturated over-done "pop", hardly any rock acts now!

Haven't heard it on the radio either, even though there's only 1 or 2 stations that are willing to play this. The Roller comes on every now and then, but that's about it. They're not that popular anyway in the Netherlands, just as Oasis wasn't. People only know Wonderwall. I'm guessing it's played more in the UK?

The lack of a new b-side didnt help. I already had Millionaire & Man Of Misery and only bought the vinyl to carry on the collection.
Also like to add that in comparison the Arctic Monkeys singles from Humbug went in at 12, 94 & 90 and their latest peaked at 28.
The only disappointment to me was The Roller. With a bit more airplay and all the formats released at once then it could have had a chance of Top 20 or at least Top 25. The rest once the album is out are always gonna end up between 60-100 because of how the charts are now.

BDI lacks quality hits. Their album is full of average tunes with a couple of slightly above average ones. Not surprised at all by this news. Agreed. Some actual promotion would have helped all the previous singles out, and them releasing on a format that could have a wide release would also have helped. But in the end, I don't think any of the songs were really good enough to be great singles, with the exception of FLW and TR (just because its the kind of song that does well on the radio). But I keep hearing people say that this should have been a single and that should have been a single. To be honest, I don't think there were that many singles on this album. After FLW and TR, it was just picking from a hopeless litter. Each one of the remaining songs could have appealed to a certain audience, but that's about it, a CERTAIN audience. There just weren't that many "singles" on this album. I said it when this album came out: a good solid album with solid songs, but that's about it. Nothing more and nothing less. Having quality "singles" is not the true test of the quality of an album, but it does say something, when you can't find more than 2 songs to release from your album.

I think at this point it's fairly obvious that Beady Eye needs to change up its style a bit, which they are fully capable of doing. I'm not a knowledgeable about where the tracks came from as you folks, but if the album tracks did go (roughly) in the order they were written, as was speculated around release, they can for sure make a better second effort. Just stop throwing Oasis-era material on there and see what comes out. Wigwam, The Morning Son, Three Ring Circus and The Beat Goes on were all steps in the right direction, unfortunately they all lack depth.
I think they need to stay on the schedule Laim discussed, write new material for what would be an end of year release, but then take a step back and really listen to it. They have the potential to make masterpieces but everything just seems rushed. I get that Liam likes that raw feel of writing, recording then quickly releasing, but that doesn't leave enough time to expand the material, and that's where Beady Eye suffers.

You didn't get the oasis ones? No, I was to young to realise what 'Oasis' even was back then And by the time I got into the band all I wanted was all their albums, but even that took me a while as I'm the typical always-pretty-broke student And little note: the first Oasis-relating thing I bought was the 'The Dreams We Have As Children' CD of ebay
