There might be a thread on this song already, I'm just too lazy to look. Sorry if there is one already. But I really like this song. I always have. Seems like people don't mention it enough. But it's definitely one of my 3 favorite songs from BHN (DGA & AATW being the others).
Love the lyrics, love Liam's voice, Noel's backing vocals are great, and the ending is spectacular. Just love the Al Green like Key Boards and Noel and Liam's vocal harmony. Still wonder why it wasn't a single.

My second favorite on BHN(only behind of IHITIK) and its lenght is perfect(a matter that only IHITIK, DGA and Dirty Shirt accomplish)

Love love love the ending. I'm a huge sucker for songs where Noel and Liam trade vocals back and forth and simultaneously harmonize. They do it so effortlessly and it sounds brilliant. You can feel the brotherly connection there...and I get that same feeling whenever I hear their vocals at the end of Some Might Say, and the live versions of Fade Away as well.
But TGITDS is a cute song. I'm sure Meg loved it at the time.

Really good and underrated tune. All 4 major parts of the song are mega. Annoying drumming though. I bet a stripped down version of the song a la Stand By Me poolside would be mega.

Yeah, always loved this tune. A quirky love song. Liam's vocals especially on the bridge are amazing. Very underrated.

My favorite song from that album, and according to Itunes one of the most played tracks I have. It's a brilliant song.

I don't even own a copy of Be Here Now. Reading threads like this really make me think i should! You definitely should. All of the '90s releases are essential to own as an Oasis fan. All of the songs on Be Here Now blend together really well also. For an album as long as it is, it's really cohesive.

This song is right up there for me with the classics. At first I didn't really listen to it, therefore I didn't like it, but the last month or so I've really gotten back into BHN. I'd say its my favorite album behind DM now. I must be weird, because I love long songs for some reason. For me I prefer a 9 minute AATW to a 4 minute radio version.

Noel's backing vocals really make this song.

I love this song! To me is one of the most underrated Oasis' songs. Is an amazing tune and the lyrics are just perfect. I don't know why I think is one of the most beautiful Oasis' love songs. Maybe because of the simplicity and the truth it unpins.

Anyone else know?

TGITDS would have been a classic for me if it hadn't been for the weird sound effects in the chorus. That ruins the song a bit. But I do love the way it develops to the ending.

What sound effects in the chorus are you speaking of? The slide guitar? That's the only thing you could possibly be referring to...

This is one of those songs that if I'm in a good mood and this comes on, I get in an even better mood. It's a very underrated song. Just a good time all around I think.

There are two version of The Girl In The Dirty Shirt which I love. I love the original BHN version and I love the Noel live version from Dublin.
I always smile when Noel sings, "maybe, she'll come to my house for tea." Don't know why. It's just the way he sings it.
