Anaheim is a complete different animal. That's in Orange County about 45mn out of LA, people are on a complete different vibe than us LA folks, incredibly conservative. Hawthorne still has that super mellow vibe.. maybe cos Compton is next door. |

The beach boys were a superb band, and I'm just not saying that bc they're from LA. the stuff brian wilson did was some of the best ever. Don't think it can be overlooked how he branched out to new things without really the support of the label or his band. One of the first really. they were big, but they didn't have the "no matter what" support of the beatles. plus noel could hear some stuff in pet sounds or the smile sessions (WHICH IS FINALLY GETTING RELEASED) that could probably inspire him in a good way. even late 60s/early 70s beach boys would be up his alley. or give the dennis wilson album a spin. i know ashcroft is a fan of that album, and one of the coldplay dudes said "river song" is his fav album ever. even liam would go nuts on that tune, big epic and soulful. noel just needs to get over his dislike of them. |
