There's a lot of comparisons to other songs on this forum, so maybe let's bring it all together and specify which "influences" can you hear on DGSS. Maybe not all of them are direct, e.g. I don't thing that BE give a shit about JET, but what I mean is "I've-heard-this-bit-before" going through your head. 1. "Four Letter Word" 2. "Millionaire" 3. "The Roller" - This one goes without saying, obvious. 4. "Beatles and Stones" - Beatles & Stones? 5. "Wind Up Dream" - A bit "Glass Onion"- ish. 6. "Bring the Light" 7. "For Anyone" 8. "Kill for a Dream" - Jet - "Bring It On Back" chorus. 9. "Standing on the Edge of the Noise" - verse from Babylon Zoo - "All the money's gone" + "Get Back" chorus. 10. "Wigwam" - the drum part in the middle sounds like the intro from "Join Together" by The Who 11. "Three Ring Circus" 12. "The Beat Goes On" 13."The Morning Son" - "Just Gettin' Older" + "English Rose" by The Jam Any more ideas?

Beady Eye is fookin' original. They sound like no other fooker.
Only joking. For some reason, the "I'm coming up" part on "Wigwam" sounds like something from Screamadelica, but I can't think how.

Wind Up Dream - the "dying dream" part in Falling Down. For Anyone - There She Goes by the La's. Kill For a Dream - Little James (the na na nas) and All In The Mind (chorus) by Oasis... Three Ring Circus - a bit like TNOR. The Morning Son - Just Gettin Older. Mainly similarities to Oasis. Not surprising, is it?

I hear influences & sound alike bits from Lennon & McCartney (Solo stuff) on the album & B-sides. I'm sure Wigwam is actually sampled from "Coming Up" by Wings.
Beatles & Stones - Speaks for it's self but has a clear My Generation (The Who) Bass line thoughout.
The La's is clear in 'For Anyone' & Jerry Lee Lewis in 'BTL'
The Charlatans defo have an influence on the album in places too.

Now you're confusing yourself with me. live4ever.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=factsandfictionbe&action=display&thread=65151Obviously it was going to be something like: "Things you think you're the only one who noticed" (for Beady eye) and not just one silly remark, or some made-up story.

Standing on the Edge of the Noise sounds like 5:15 by The Who
Wind up Dream sounds like Opposites Attract by Paula Adbul.

World Outside My Room sounds like Fats Waller's "Old Grand Dad". Wind Up Dream intro sounds like Proud Mary. Beat Goes On intro sounds like Keep The Dream Alive. Morning Son outro based heavily on The La's Lookingglass.

Why can't it just be coincedence? Of course they're influence by other bands, but that's definitely not a bad thing. Look at how many music has been made. Everything is going to have parts that sound like something else.

The Beat Goes On sounds very Abba-esque and I mean that in a good way... I think (runs for cover...)

^Wow, that's really obvious, just like TR and SOTEOTN...but I doubt Liam and Gem realize this when they write songs.

Three Ring Circus: Guitar reminds of All Right Now by Bad Company. Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet.

The little riff throughout Beatles and Stones sounds like 'Devil In Me' by The 22-20s.

The Leave My Kitten alone example isn't a good one. That song's just a basic twelve-bar format. Beatles And Stones is basically that format, but based around a minor chord set up with the pay off being very different to a standard twelve-bar song.
What I mean is where Leave My Kitten Alone would (presumably) follow something like this: C F C G F (stop) then back to C
Beatles And Stones (simplified) is: Cm Fm Cm G# G (stop). Much different sound.

"Four Letter Word" : intro "the View from the afternoon" by the arctic monkeys and the solo by Queens of the stone age!

Those last two posts are ridiculous...those songs sound a bit similar, but I don't think BDI were inspired by Foo Fighters or Arctic Monkeys.
