Choose your LEAST favourite single. Don't consider the b-sides since we are yet to hear The Roller one.

Chosing the least favourite was hard. I chose Lyla because am still on a high with The Roller.

Had to choose the Roller unfortunately. Just hard to say that its better than an Oasis lead single.

All are incredible, Oasis never released a bad lead single. If i had to pick one (which i do ) it'd be some might say, never liked it as much as all the others there

The Roller. The only competitor is Lyla. Absolutely love all them others.
None of Oasis last four albums may have been candidates of being the greatest of the last decade, but they always released really, really great lead singels. Would place them all in my top 50 songs of 00-09.

The Hindu Times, not that its a bad song but the others have that extra kick.

Got to be Lyla, a generic Oasis "anthem", that the record company convinced them to release as the lead single.

I ain't that surprised tbh. The only thing that would surprise me is if someone chose Supersonic or D'Yer Know What I mean? - Them two are by far and away the best there. Am surprised two people chose Go Let It Out

I like every single song on that list a LOT.
But it's Lyla for me - only because the live version is so much better.
In fact, let's rank them where 1) is best:
1) Supersonic 2) Some Might Say
then some distance to
3) D'Yer Know What I Mean? 4) Go Let It Out
then some distance to
5) The Roller 6) The Shock Of The Lightening
then some distance to
7) The Hindu Times 8) Lyla

The Hindu Times because of the shitty production and Liam's, somewhat bad, vocals

Am surprised two people chose Go Let It Out About Go Let It Out. I think it's brilliant and I'm curious about how people reacted to it when it got out. Obviously, the hype about Oasis had decreased rapidly, but since it was such a great single: were people talking about the comeback of Oasis, did no one care at all or was it considered as a letdown? Very OT, but also very interesting for a nerd like myself.

It's gotta be placed in context - Oasis were regarding as "past it" by that point - half the band had left, with Andy and Gem in... the hot new bands were the nu-metal Limp Bizkits and so on. (this was before The Strokes and The White Stripes saved the day). Oasis were already 'last generation'. That being said, "Go Let It Out" still got single of the week in NME if my memory serves - and there was a big chat as to whether Noel had stolen the lyrics to the chorus from a Jamaican poem or something. That's worth a Google. I loved it - and still do. Think it's RIGHT up there with their best stuff. And that b-side LAMB remains a lost classic. Number One, and well deserved.

But I must say, I can't believe that they fell so hard with Be Here Now. Going from biggest band in the world to 'past it' in just two years. When they came to Sweden in -97 the papers wrote 15-20 pages about them. That is incredible much in this country, last time Coldplay was here they got 3-4 pages. Point is, going from that huge to barely being mentioned at their -00 gig seems so strange. I mean, Coldplays last two albums aren't nearly as good as their first two but they are as big as ever.

Went for HT...but it's not that I don't like it...just like the others more...

The Hindu Times. As much as I like it - and I do - it's the worst one of the bunch. Also, take note how similar the majority of those lead singles are: SMS, GLIO, THT, Lyla, and TSOTL have an almost identical vibe. When we say "Oasis by numbers" it mostly refers to this bunch of songs for good reason - and the odd typical Oasis ballad, too (like DLBIA and LBL)

Either people are not seeing The Roller as an option or it is holding up pretty well, considering we're talking about Oasis
