Gem. The verse melody reminds me of Hung In A Bad Place. You can start singing that chorus right after 'don't you ever wanna play'.

Gem wrote it. It's a song about frustrated love- not Noel.

Gem or andy would never throw shots at noel. If this is indeed about noel which it sure sounds like, then liam wrote it.

I think it's a Liam, Andy and Gem joint effort definitely, Liam would of had the main input in to the lyrics while Gem and Andy came up with all the guitar work.

Guitars have Gem written all over, sounds very Heavy Stereo and Oasis (songs Gem wrote). Got that glam rock feel about it.
In terms of words, I wanna say Andy as I can't see the other two writing them. I hope its Liam, because it would be his best song to date, it would be a Liam song that could stand up and rival Noels from post 2000.

I think the basic song is Liams. I think their was heavy involvement of the others into the instrument parts though which is why we are hearing shades of the others.

the lyrics make me think its andys, not because of what they say, but how they say it. Liams lyrics are way too limited to write something like that

I think it was originally liam, based on that shitty lyric about a 50 amp fuse, but became a group composition.

I have a feeling it is a Gem song. It feels glam and Heavy Stereo, and also the lyrics got the Gem feeling. The Rolling Stones references add up to the Gem feeling as well.

Going purely on whats been recorded before by the various members id say Gem. Its very reminiscent of Heavy Stereo. Plus no one can say its conclusively about Noel it could just be an angry song about anyone, even if its about Noel that wouldnt preclude Gem from writing it.

Collaborative effort. You can hear bits of all of them in there. Well, maybe not Andy. The "Feels like I'm blowin' a 50 amp fuse" is a Gem line, I'd bet my house on it. One thing I've noticed with him is that he's got a talent for coming up with lyrics that roll off the tongue. "It's hasta manana, you're on your own banana skin feet now" is another one that springs to mind.

You're right, he does have a knack for that kind of thing.

But that whole 50-amp fuse bit is straight out of "You can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones: "...Singing, We're gonna vent our frustration If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse Sing it to me now..." If anybody is going to rip a lyric, it'll be Liam.

Andy is the biggest Rolling Stones fan of the group. Reasons to believe it's Andy 1. Rolling stones fan (50-amp fuse blowing) 2. Could be about his wife being divorced, just because that the divorce happened two years ago it doesn't mean the song isn't two years old. It could have been a song before the divorce and one of the four songs Andy had for DOYS that Noel didn't want and chose The Nature of Reality instead. 3. Others have said it sounds like a Hurricane #1 track 4. BTL was Liam, Roller is Gem, they are trying to be democractic, probably FLW is Andy. If it is Andy, give him credit for restoring faith in many fans who did not like BTL and getting people excited about the album again. (I liked BTL BTW). "drip drab velcro moustache" also springs to mind. You're right, he does have a knack for that kind of thing. True. 4. BTL was Liam, Roller is Gem, they are trying to be democractic, probably FLW is Andy. Who said the Roller was written by Gem? I think they wrote it all togheter. Or at least Gem and Liam together. Liam was definetely in it for the lyrics, which may be edited a bit by Gem and i think Gem did most of the guitar parts as well..

Noel said that Gem wrote it around the HC-era, but they couldn't get the production right, so it was excluded from the album.
