Love this song. I'd go as far as to say that it's better than any of the singles from the last two Oasis albums.

lol i get that Little James has terrible lyrics but it is what it is... i know that's a cliche and all but hey... We've all heard worse(thinks of Kesha, Lady Gaga, Usher, anything that's on the radio these days) My point was Liam's improving as a songwriter with each album so it wouldn't be fair to dismiss him yet. He's as good as anyone in BDI if not even better.

i'd say it's better than falling down. Weak melody in that song. But idle and love are really great.

nope. the importance of being idle, let there be love and falling down were singles. so you must joking +1 certainly TIOBI is better. That's a rival of anything Oasis ever did IMO. Agree with Colin Murray - "so good it could've been a b-side in 1994" and he was right. FLW sounds like U2's "Hold Me Kiss Me Thrill Me Kill Me"

nope. the importance of being idle, let there be love and falling down were singles. so you must joking Falling Down never really did anything for me, the lyrics are great, sure, but the song is BOOOoooring, i think there's that one part like 10 second when it gets going "catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly..." then it's all too bland for my taste. Is 4Lw better than IOT? i don't really know, is it better than TSOTL? i think it's right up there. It definitely is better in terms of lyrics but yeah... this thing ain't touching LTBL.

Have the 7"s sold out yet? It doesn't appear so on the store, but people are bidding on ebay still, bizarrely, and one sold for about 25 quid!

Damn it. I thought it was going to be a good tune... but some cool music and yet another nothing chorus. Where is Noel when you need him? Not one hook in this damn song.

Anyone has any idea what the letters are at the very end of the clip? Of course you can see "beady eye" scrolling by horizontally, but vertically there are some mirrored letters... I can make out a 2, O, θ, X and S, L , V and a U Really difficult to see, because it's only a fraction of a second. I wonder what it really says...

Townsend Records are really realiable. I have used the before. Ocean Colour Scene have used them for ages for new releases.
Four Letter Word = Fookin Mega!
Bring on the album.

For what it is, it's a decent enough song. You can't have been expecting LAG to evolve into brilliant songwriters overnight.

i gotta be honest, music like this. This is like a definitely maybe style rocker. That music didn't have huge hooks, not all of them anyway. Trying to add a big pop hook leads to garbage like little by little

Not sure what people are on about with the lack of hooks thing. The 'It's about time that your mind took a holiday' bit and the 'Ahhh you've had enough of staring out of dead end eyes' both sound like hooks to me. Good ones, too.

To be fair, songs don't necessarily need the early Oasis blueprint of <verse / verse / HUGE ANTHEMIC CHORUS / verse / HUGE ANTHEMIC CHORUS / middle eight / HUGE ANTHEMIC CHORUS>

Besides, there are plenty of hooks on the album judging by the previews.
Rockers are supposed to add energy and strength to the album, not necessarily hooks and melodies.
Fantastic opener.

Because of the impending blizzard, i forgot all about this. Just listened to it now. Loving it - especially Gem's solo mid way through.
It's def. about Noel though, no doubt in my mind.

It's pretty good. I wasn't enamoured with the clip and the song is alright...not a massive step up for me.
Like it more than BTL. Wonder it every BDI song is gonna ramble a bit towards the end though?
Still not liking the vocal.
Was always more looking forward to the Roller. I got a bit into this because I found the possibilities for the lyrics more engaging than the music
Only listened to it once so far as I am at work though. Maybe I'm just missing what you all are creaming yourselves over because my speaker suck?

It got even better on the second listen. I'm really buzzing off of this. Sounds exactly like Oasis, but somehow ever so slightly different.
I didn't hate BTL, but it didn't fill me with confidence. But after the leaked clips, and now this song, I'm feeling so much more optimistic.
What an awesome little rock tune this is. And the return of the solo! AT LAST!
