Can't we just say influenced by Rock N Roll music? Which started in the 50's/60's. i'm still waiting on beady eye or noel to try something harmony laden. Beatles harmony anyway, i'm not sure i'd wanna hear them even attempt beach boys harmony.

What in the world is going on with this band? This is the most brilliant tune I've heard in years. They are all over the place with this first batch of new tunes. One of a kind.

This song is... good, catchy, weird in its way... but where's Liam's attitude? It sounds like the jingly-jangly background music to a light-hearted TV commercial. Not what I was expecting.
I do love the Beatles-ish backing vocals and the Pink Floyd-ish background noises.
For the record, BDI is fantastic and I absolutely love what they've been doing. Can't wait for the album and tour.

Has everyone gone mental? I like the style of it and the lyrics but it's a shite song. I could do better, seriously.

I think you're misunderstanding my view on this. I'm not hung up on it, I said I've enjoyed every song quite a bit. I'm just saying, The Roller and WOMR are past influenced/derivative, they're moving into the area of plaigarism.I didn't misunderstand. I was responding to your very clear ”it’s a rip off" posts and not your now new and convenient opinion of: "they're moving into the area of plaigarism." Fair enough if that's what you now think, but before my last post you weren’t calling them that. "blatant rip-offs." are the words you were using: ...I also thought The Roller was quite good. I mean, it's just a shame both are blatant rip-offs.Have you heard Bobby Darin's "Jive"? The WOMW rip is a bad as The Roller's IK rip. Maybe worse. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I’ll take it you have began to change your mind and maybe even this thread has helped you do that. You've made the jump from ”Rip Off” to ”moving into the area of paigarism.” . ...You now just need to take the next step to: Not Plagiarism and then we should all be in agreement.

Never heard of him at all, in honestly. He's from the Sinatra-Sammy Davis Jr. era of preformers...and not an overly obscure one @ that. not really. he was younger than them, but he was all over the place musically. he did protest songs, 50s rock and roll, lounge crooner jazz, even country.

But it's easily mistaken if you just look at him. as a kid i thought he was older cause "beyond the sea" and "mack the knife" are big band tunes.

it's a great tune. The rhythm reminds me of the La's. Kinks and small faces in there too. A Great vocal by Liam, a long time since we heard anything that delicate from him

I can't stop listening to this song. I've been a huge skeptic so far especially with many songs lacked originality. This song despite some videos posted has no clear ripoffs and no clear influence. It's just straight blues with great lyrics. My favorite song by BE yet.

Gotta agree on this one! They are absolutely exceeding ALL of my expectations. Not only have they allready put out 5 tunes, they are also all quality tunes and there's a diversity none of us could have ever expected!

Pepper, Definitely Maybe, Pet Sounds, Dark Side and every other great album look like they were put out by your local 6th grade band. The fact that these songs are merely 'great' is a massive dissapointment to me! </acquiesceyeah> Damn, html tags don't work on UBB

I have a feeling this song was written about Noel...the references to not going out correlates with stories coming out of the Oasis camp during the DOYS era when Noel would not interact with his fellow band members. According to numerous reports, he basically turned into a hermit, being only interested in "televisions and dusty windows". If we believe the multitude of rumours from the time, Noel had a penchant for sitting on his back and thinking of the good old days and remembering the times when he hadn't orchestrated the demise of Oasis - he whiled the hours away, but it was the bad influence on his life, Alan McGee, who told him to "stop dreaming about what might have been". Noel was running out of ideas; he started to realise that Liam, Gem and Andy were more talented than him and ergo became bitter of his loss of fortunes. Finally, Noel realised he 'had lost his way', and decided to split the band up in an act of sour grapes. But he never expected Beady Eye. No-one expected Beady Eye.
Long live Beady Eye.

Clearly every Beady Eye tunes will be about Noel. Yup. Noel brought the light to Oasis, and the rest of the band got to see. It was ecstasy! So much so, he took the band drinking. Can't get much clearer than that. ;D

Can definitely hear SHE'S A WOMAN in this tune - particularly when you compare it to McCartney's 1993 unpugged performance.

This song could be The importance of being idle ´s little sister: the songs talks about lazyness and some kind of angry old man (Noel???). This is so Kinks... I can hear Ray and Dave singing in it.

I love the dog line. It adds an even bigger sense of solitude to the song. "Sittin' with the one I love the most" You immediately think about a girl, but it's in fact about the dog. Brilliant
