Gonna wait for the album like some others out there. I did listen to the Four Letter Word preview; sounded outstanding.
I'm a little surprised by all the bandwagon posts, though (example... this might not be a shit album after all!!). What did you all expect? Liam and the boys to release some awful record and be a laughingstock? Let's give them some credit, they're not that stupid. We were always going to get a competent album. Looking forward to it.

^ That's a strange post, man. If everyone could just realize they were releasing a shit album, there would never be shit albums, would there? The problem is musicians are so involved with every step of the creative process that they have no perspective on the quality of the work. That's why you get weird statements from Noel about Stop the Clocks being his best song. It's impossible to be objective about one's own songs.

Im not gunna lie, like most people i had my doubts about if liam and the boys could pull it off. Listening to just little clips like those have give me confidence that this could be a great album. Sounds fresh, happy and just what liam said, theres a good mix of tunes. Im soooo excited to get it in feb now and listen to it properly

Where I was coming from is that I've gotten the feeling on this forum that Liam hardly has the ability to put out a competent album. I just find it a bit odd it takes 30-second samples of songs for people to have some faith.

I think what calms people's fears, primarily, is that there's no sign of the album being filled with shit rockers like TMOS, AGN, etc, and that there's actually signs of nice, melodic tunes. Secondarily, I think people are pleased there's no signs of the 50s vibe in any of those preview clips, thus it doesn't look like the album will follow BTL's footsteps. And lastly, Liam is sounding pretty good. Sure, you can't judge the album accurately, but the signs are all looking pretty positive at this point. Also, FWIW, I still don't like the sound of SOTEOTN, but I can't get that lyric out of my head!

It realistic reevaluation of expectations based on new input. My expectations started @ neutral. I heard BTL and thought 'meh' so my expectation slipped slightly lower. I heard some things that I really liked on the teasers...my expectation raised slightly. Honestly I think that my expectations are not significantly higher than neutral @ this point. The clips went little way of allaying some concerns that I had following the BTL release. However, my biggest criticisms of BTL are length and lyrics. Neither of those can be addressed by these clips.

After 1 listen to all the clips once. I can't wait to hear these songs live. Liams voice is sounding really good. I hope he can pull off For Anyone though?!
Like the production.
Standing On The Edge Of The Noise sounding like my cuppa tea!
I never doubted Beady Eye..C'monnn!!

Liam's voice sounds awful. Definitely the worst he's sounded on record. I was thinking that myself. The voice itself isn't sounding too bad but he's singing far too much through his nose, and that's coming from a man who likes Liam's voice more than any others. His voice has gone from being the strongest part of his records to being the weakest... I think it actually puts a lot of people (general public) off the songs I definitely agree with the sentiment. Although I think Liam sounds OK to me - in some cases better than others - there is an overly nasal quality there. But its really small potatoes. I'm really enjoying the album clips. Can't wait for some fan-made mix of these. As for my picks...I think the tracks I like best are the ones that surprised me most: For Anyone Millionaire Morning Son The Roller Kill For a Dream Wind Up Dream should be up there too. It's a great song from what I hear so far, and I love the lyrics, but that spoils it at the moment is all the Nickelback comments! I can't stop thinking of fucking Nickelback while listening to it! Then these are good/very interesting: Wigwam Standing on the Edge of the Noise The Beat Goes On Three Ring Circus Bring The Light The least best - but still decent/good: Four Letter Word (not sure what to make of it at all) Beatles and Stones (kind of expected this to be a Beggard Banquet bluesy slide guitar thing...its not at all, but its still just ok)

Wow, can't believe how much the "Kill for a Dream" clip sounds like "Rockstar" by Nickelback. I still really do like the sound of the Beady Eye song, but what an embarrassing comparison.
Compare.
Nickelback makes me suicidal.

Liam and the boys to release some awful record and be a laughingstock? Let's give them some credit, they're not that stupid. We were always going to get a competent album. Looking forward to it. I dont think theyre that stupid, but for me personally i was pretty nervous in case it bombed. I mean Bring the light got a ton of abuse from forums, i was worried in case we had some 50's throwback album. I think Liam is capable of some good songs (I love i'm outta time) and so is Gem but i must admit i was still nervous. Things like meaning of soul or aint got nothing are just short little amateur type efforts in my view. I was expecting lots of songs like that. Noel of course is the great song writer but yeah i was nervous what Liam and co would do. When Liam came out with the 'best thing since D.Maybe' i thought oh oh here we go again. Liam ALWAYS seems to say that before each new album. Perhaps in case i was super disappointed i 'held back' a bit, but i admit from these short clips so far i think the album will be farrrr better than i thought and it seems to have a lot of excellent tracks on them. Dig out your soul i loved all bar 'Get off your high horse lady...' which seemed a gimick type of track. Hearing all these previews for the songs i'm loving it. Yeah it might be because i've been starved of new music by Liam and co for a while but i honestly am loving it. Top marks to the lads. The album (and single) are pre-ordered, i must admit i'll download a leak if i can (But still obviously buy the originals) and now i cant wait to see them in March.

Sounds absolutly MEGA!!!, from these clips it definitely sounds like its gonna be better than the last few Oasis albums. They all sound as if there gonna be top songs, straight out rock'n'roll songs aswell,no experimenting or trying something different just catchy rock songs. Definitely got that Lennon/Beatles sounding edge to alot of it but can only be a good thing.

With regards to 30 second clips, when we got these for DOYS the clips I liked turned out to be the exact opposite in many cases when I heard the full album, for example WFTR hated the clip but I love the album version.
To early for me to judge this for that reason alone BUT it is very fucking Beatles/Lennon/La's/Monkeys I feel the critics could be hard on them if this turns out t be the case?
But I am more hopeful now than I was before hearing the clips that is for sure, the worry is that Bring the light clip sounds like one of the stronger tracks of the clips and I do not like that track.

Why try and get a better quality rip, may as well just wait for the release - it's only 5 weeks away.

If anyone's interested, I combined the two "Four Letter Word" clips to make a longer version. Gives you much more of a feel for the song

Excuse me for being slow, but where did the re-recording of 'Man of Misery' and 'Sons Of The Stage' come from on this?... Are they both gonna appear as bonus tracks on the album?

Seriously. This doesnt sound good! I am very dissapointed. There clearly are some good melodies in there but Liam really sound bad. Not one good song from him on this album.
The Roller sounds like the best song though. Most other songs are totally unlistenable mainly cause of Liam. This guy must udnerstand that it is time for him to stop singing. He once was the best singer in thw world.
It is tragic to see that he now is just a real joke and the only reason why he still is a singer is that he can live on his past but seriously. Liam is just a horrible singer nowadays.
Liam did some great songs on DOYS (TSOTL, Outta Time). but this is just not good at all from him.
This album is not close to any Oasis album. Not even SOTSOG.
