haven't read all your opinions yet (will go back through and do that in a bit), but let me give you mine after listening twice so far: 10X better than b.t.l. .... much more rockin' than the original version... sounds like EARLY oasis... and f*ck me what about liam's vocals here?? FANTASTIC and disagree about the production, i think it's great can't wait for a live version!! EDIT: and may i add, if all the b-sides are gonna be of this quality, then that's a GREAT sign (even though it is a cover)

i like what they have done with it, bit concerned that despite having 3 songwriters in the band they had to do a cover.

Hopefully this will be the track that they close the set with too.
Gotta agree with those who says it sounds like BHN, only how that album should have been produced. It's rocking which bodes well for future material and Lillywhite sounds like he is gonna get the best out of the band and Liam's voice which will bode well.
If the quality of songs is there then the album will be top draw, lets hope they are up to scratch.

The guitar in the beginning kinda sounds like "step out" basically early oasis.

This gives me the same vibe as Oasis' cover of Come on Feel the Noize. Absolutely love it.

Much much better
If this is an indication then of how Beady Eye are going to sound overall, minus BTL, Then I will be very happy with it. If they have the tunes then I'm sold.
This could easily have been a b-side to any of the last Oasis albums.

My favorite bit is when Liam is singing "The floor's an ocean and this wave is breaking"
I really quite love that bit...

Let's call it what it is. It is a very good cover. Well done beady eye, and liam sounds 25 again. Ahhh the magic of no cigarettes and a studio.

Am I the only one then who thinks, though it sounds good (don't get me wrong it is a good cover), that it isn't THAT good. Listened to it a few times now and, tbh, it doesn't bode well the fact it gets boring to me after a few listens. Bit like BTL is.
Like I said, its a decent cover and a good song but I fail to see how people can say it's like early Oasis. Sounds nothing like it to me
EDIT: Another thing, I am also disappointed they have done a cover. To me, as much as I love the guys, couldn't they have written something AS rocking?

His voice and the guitar in the beginning is very early oasis. The rest not so much. Its a Good cover. Nice effort. That's all most of us were hoping for mate. Its a minor step in the right direction for this band. BTL thru many of us off. This is more of a common semi-oasis type sound. I think it brings a little comfort to some of us who were beginning to think liam and the band were being haunted by the spirit of elvis and buddy holly while listening to jerry lee lewis.

I like the cover. The problem though is that the cover b-sde is better than the A-side. I'm not trying to be a downer but BDI needs to prove to me that they can write a great song. This cover is still the equivalent of Noel writing a song and them doing it. I hope that BTL was just a filler. But I still don't like that a cover-b side is better than the A-side.
Still though a good cover by Liam and Co. Hope they can write a great song of their own.

I actually don't much care for it. Haven't decided why yet, I've only heard it once.
