The 1st single is a complete embarrassment. The name is ridiculous. The cover for the single is cringe-inducing. This whole project should be aborted as soon as possible. Just pull the plug and limit the damage done to your reputation, Liam.
A few predictions that you can take straight to the bank:
1) BDI will get thrashed by critics. The album will be reviewed as one of the worst of the year.
2) Album sales will tank after a disappointing 1st week. It won't sell anywhere close to DOYS. Not even close.
3) Liam and the boys will become laughingstocks of the music industry.
4) A formerly great artist starting a new band that sucks will forever be known as "pulling a Beady Eye".

As an oasis fan, i personally enjoy BDI, BTL, and will give the album a fair amount of play regardless of the initial quality; heathen chemistry still gets play on my itunes and it's my least favorite oasis album. My personal opinion aside, I can see these predictions coming true unfortunately. Maybe the NME will hop on for a bit and give BDI a positive review, but surely the amount of "throwback" and "derivative" will not be passed by other critics. lastly the name of the band is still a little ridiculous

You may be right. Hopefully not, but Liam might end up doing an Ashcroft here. I remember when United nations of sound put out "Are you ready?" and it sounded boss at the time, and then they ended getting throttled by critics and fans when they released their album. Myself included, as I thought it was a fucking appalling record. But hopefully BTL is an average track on a great album. Only time will tell I spose.

You're a fucking slow reader. ;D nice. But yeah, your predictions are based on one song, not even the first single, and you're also making BTL worse than it is. Just WAIT. When we get the first official RECORD in stores, a real release, then we can judge BDI. Not from a free download. Relax, people.

Funny how musicians can make you realize how dumb and whiny a lot of people on a forum are.
How the hell is single cover terrible?

wait til the album is out and judge them on a collection of songs, you dont have to listen to BTL again if you don't want to

4) A formerly great artist starting a new band that sucks will forever be known as "pulling a Beady Eye". I actually LOL'ed there. Unfortunately all of your comments will come true if this really is the first single. If this is the first single you'd have to assume it's in the top 3 songs on the album and if that's the case they are in serious trouble.

Yes, Liam should go back to Noel or go solo.
BDI sounds like shit!

Some of you lot are odd. Taking it all far too serious. It's a decent song nothing special.....why expect any other when gem, liam and Andy have no track record of world class writing material....
But serously, chill out, it'l be an average to good album, a load of great interviews and a few good nights out watching the gigs.

It's a decent track - I played it full blast last night and it sounds really good turned up full volume. Liam was going to get slagged off whatever he did...if he did more "Oasis" type stuff or if he went in a different direction...the thing is - we don't know what the rest of the album is like. I think it'll be a good album...and like danscouse said "a few good nights out watching the gigs.". Bring on the summer I say!

Nice one, theres some miserable sods on here. Joyless little wierdos who build things up beyond all expectation and then savage it because it's not exactly what they wanted....
I read someone saying "the only hope I have for the album now comes from that epic 22 second you tube clip"..... Come on people, get real. You can't judge anything from that song and the reason it's universally loved is precisely because of that..... It's so short it fits perfectly with anything anyone is hoping it could be......
Brmc playing supersonic?..... Check A return to the be here now days?.... Check Sleazy glam rock with amazing liam vocals?... Check Andy laying down jimmy page riffs?..... Check
it could be anything that clip, we don't know, and because of that people imagine what's like. And the reality can never match up

I'm not a massive fan of the song but personally i think Alan McGee is right, This band has so much potential and they should be fucking amazing live! I think everybody's expectations went over the top just because they heard a 20 second video clip

Don't worry, Bring The Light is just an album filler. Odds are they took the most "outlandish" track off the album and stuck it on their website for free, to a) generate hype b) put some diffrence between them and the typicle Oasis sound people probably expected.

Bands release bad records from time to time, sometimes the songs might not be there, or production they use might not be good. So I'm giving Liam and co the benefit of the doubt, Liam has proven he could write a decent tune, if that doesn't happen, then I'm going to say "it is what it is" so that's it, so it gives more hope for the second album

I think everybody's expectations went over the top just because they heard a 20 second video clip I fully expected that Beady Eye would suck donkey balls. My expectations were not only met, they were exceeded. If I heard anyone playing this shit on an ipod or in their car my first reaction would be "Jesus, what a fucking square." This is music for old bald guys. It makes me cringe.

Before I heard this song I was going to buy the album the week it came out without listening to it.(Like I've done with every single Oasis album since SOTSOG)
After listening to BTL, I will DEFINITELY listen to the entire thing to decide if it's even worth spending money on...

I had a single run through listen of the forthcoming album demos, and barring a couple of tracks (Millionaire is a standout), it does look like they may struggle when faced with the unavoidable comparisons to the standards set by Oasis.
Beady Eye will undoubtedly do well initially and the live dates (which are to be on the smaller side - Apollo, Rock City) will be a success due to the established fanbase but on the basis of what I heard, I do fear a critical backlash and a much narrower public appeal.
