The song is shit. Pure shit. I'd love to see a 22 year old Liam's facial expression if somebody played this piece of feces to him in 1994 and told him it was the kind of music he'd be playing when he was 38. I think Liam would have killed himself on the spot. What is that supposed to mean? I mean, truly? It's not 1994 anymore and it will never be. So what's the point in discussing fantasy conversations between a young Liam and an middle-aged Liam? Having said that, I think if you'd have offered the 22-year-old Liam the career and life he would have in the next 16 years, he'd have overwhelmingly accepted and approved. I wonder if any other fans of established artists have the same conversations as we have, you know, people comparing McCartney's new material to I Saw Her Standing There, Yesterday or We Can Work It Out. The point is that Liam would have been APPALLED by this song. He and Noel both would have torn into it as a piece of shit. The thought that HE would actually be writing and performing this dad-rock shit would have sent him over the edge. I can picture the look on his face as soon as that cheesy piano shit starts. He'd be like "what the fucking hell, man?".

Ha! It's good enough for Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell and Gem Archer to enjoy and release, but not good enough for some random dude called "Robohump"! Face palm time. So you are arguing that everythjing they release must be good because they think it's "good enough to release"? That is a whole new level of fanboi and it's the perfect example of what I said earlier about Liam taking a shit on a microphone. Richard Ashcroft thought United Nations of Sound was "good enough". Oasis thought Little James was "good enough". They also thought Ain't Got Nothin' was "good enough". Hell, they thought Heathen Chemistry was "the best since Definitely Maybe". What a joke. Absolutely not. Read my signature - I could care less for two whole Oasis albums, Be Here Now is bloated, overlong, and I've no love for the production on Heathen Chemistry either. I've been at shit Oasis gigs - Exeter in 1997, Osaka Dome Japan in 2002 & Wembley second night in 2000. Just as I've been at great ones. Although I adore Liam, the fact that I like BTL is NOTHING to do with fanboiness and everything to do with the fact that I, er, like it. As do the band. As do others on this forum. If you don't - great! But don't kid yourself that you somehow know better.

Yeah you're right, I don't really like it i'm just pretending. I won't listen to it ever again, thanks for opening my eyes. What do I like mate? I think I should check with you first. Was he addressing you? Fuck me, tomlivesforever you have been the most annoying turd ever. No one can critisize the song even a inch before you dress them down. He offered his opinion to NL4E, and not you. I mean really I get people defending a tune that they like, but you dont have to jump down people's throats on it. There is a way to voice your disaqreements without being a total dick. He made a valid point. So get the fuck off of his balls. ffs Guy's (TLF) a classless turd. He ran his mouth off about me repeating myself in the BTL thread and I called him on it- nothing within the comment was bore out earlier outside of the fact that Liam tends to pen short songs with some appalling lyrics...not exactly re-inventing the wheel, obviously. He likes to re-apply people's opinion like they're demeaning other's. Which is total garbage of course.

We could easily have gotten Man of Misery not only on the album but also as the free single. Let's just be glad neither of those two have happened. BTL is a solid tune, and it's much better than the other most recent Liam song we've heard (Man of Misery).
As for 'ripping' off the 1950s as not being fresh or new? Yeah, you're right. But the fact is no one in mainstream music is doing it, so it doesn't have to be innovative - it differs from the generic pop melodies that have dominated the radio stations since the mid 1990s, and for that reason it can be regarded as refreshing.
It's just a fun tune - it's not Live Forever, but nor is it Little James. Take if for what it is, and leave the extremes behind.
