Actually bring the light is not that bad, but they've fucked up a few parts:
1) The intro is awful - Need something more classy 2) The lyrics are the begining (verse) are awful, they hurt my ears (sextacy ??). Softer words would have been better. 3) Piano is to jazzy. Would have been better with guitar. 4) Liam's voice is a bit harsh, it would have been better with other lyrics and more guitar. 5) Chorus "baby come on" and girls behind are actually quite good.
It's a shame this song could have been a lot better. Wrong style ...

Ahhh you wanted that errr... Oasis style? ffs. Not really... it's just the combination between, the lyrics, the piano and liam's voice which is not that good. We all know liam's voice is not at its top... so he needs to be careful with the lyrics, and needs guitar to cover the imperfection of his voice ... I also don't like this fast beat rythm (it's a bit like mucky fingers which I did not like, or love like a bomb ...)

Does'nt anyone think BTL has a sound similar to "i am a believer" (the monkees) at some moments ?

the one that wasn't the wrong one ;D i just can't help but think that if nyr is randy watson or stevehaze posted a tune like this on the musicans board, that the same people who say they love b.t.l. would tell them 'shit lyrics, the guitar/riff and melody needs work, work on a chorus, but keep working at it, you're getting there'.

I like it but, like Boy With the Blues, it could deffo lose around a minute at the end. Still, that's what editing software's for! Bit off topic, but... You reckon they're using software? You might be right but I can't help but think they're doing it the old fashioned way and recording to analog tape. Either that or they've got some cracking tape saturation plugins on ProTools.

Right. So Noel 0 Beady Eye -1. I for one am saying nothing more than it's not a good song. There's worse, sure, but that's like saying there's worse than whacking your fucking thumb with a hammer. It's all realtive, and realtive to good music, this isn't good. *Relative To keep such a score to begin with is an act of mindless stupidity. Why would you even compare anything Liam can write with that of Noel's? Liam is trying to move away from the tried and true Oasis formula and you are relentlessly with futile results portraying him as trying to compete with his brother. He's making music, Noel's the one who decided to quit so give the guy a break, JESUS! Stew meat: yes, I know: RELATIVE. I was in a hurry and typoed twice. If there's anyone on earth who believes it's spelled REALTIVE, I'm more scared to go outside than ever. My response was in jest regarding keeping score in the first place...we're perhaps being a bit more tongue and cheek than useful for some here. Relax.

I like it. It's different to Oasis with the female backing vocals that compliment Liam's vocal, the early Elvis/Jerry Lee Lewis vibe is good and again different. If Liam were still in Oasis the song would have stopped at 2.20 and could be classed the same as MOS or AGN but the last minute or so adds layers to it, variety that wasn't seen before. If people don't like it they don't like it, no need to slag it off or slag the band off.

I will say it's sounding better today than it did y-day.
Further, rarely do I give much credit for being 'different', as it rarely correlates with quality, but I may make a bit of an exception in this case. Nothing quite like this from them over the last 16 years.
The lyrics though are still fucking abysmal.

Either that or they've got some cracking tape saturation plugins on ProTools. Fail Whats wrong with that? I know quite a few bands that record to tape, I'm in one of them, and seeing as Liam n Noel seem to be massively trying to re-create that early 60s sound on the last few albums then why not? After doin a bit of digging around about Dave Sardy, yeah he does use Pro Tools, but he seems to go about producing in a very old fashioned way, i.e more about using fewer mics and more about where they're positioned to get the sound he does. Sorry if it was such a stupid question smartarse, but if they were going for such a 'classic' sound then why not use the gear that defined that sound.

Pretty cool. Verrrrry retro, like early 60s. Great to hear Liam again. Dig the piano and the back up singers.
Makes me excited to hear what the rest of the album will sound like. Its certainly not Oasis, but it sounds pretty cool.

Aaaaaah, gotcha! Sorry for any misunderstandings dude. Tbh the song is so average there wouldn't really be any point.
Unlike a few others that are finding the song 'growing' with each listen I'm kinda going the other way, every time I'm listening to it I'm picking it apart and finding more things I dislike about it.
Whhhhy didn't they just release the track in the 'teaser' video, sounded like it had much more potential. I'm kinda agree'ing with McGee, even though BTL is pretty weak and should NEVER have been the first track we heard from them, I definitely do think people shouldn't be judging them just on the 1 song, I'm sure the album will have some much better tunes ...*crosses fingers*

like i said before it was released it couldnt be any good coz no one in the band is a songwriter. mcgee's point falls short coz you can have the best musicians in the world in a band but if they cant write....
liam's voice is good on it though

Easy to see why Liam and the band enjoyed a Jim Jones Revue gig as was reported a while back Webby, any chance that you know who wrote the song? yes, JERRY LEE LEWIS...

dont think anyone's spotted it yet but the song is in fact a 100% complete rip off of the velvet underground's white light white heat. In fact, I predict Lou will sue here coz he's a fairly tight bastard.

I was pretty surprised when I first heard the song. I find it odd that critics are saying it's the same old Oasis sound, because to me it sounds very different in its style - it's more piano-based than most things Oasis did. It's obviously no Supersonic, but it could be a decent album track if the rest of the record is good. The only thing I really dislike is the use of the female backing vocalists at the end, which I find a little too cheesy.
