If 80 year old Paul Weller with his boring ass sound(just my opinion) can manage to get on Kimmel, why not Liam and company? just saying...

Weller is Epic (just my opinion) no saying he wasn't, just saying he's an old man now, and those 2 songs in particular(the ones he played) are nothing special imo

Weller is a great, great man (just my opinion) and I've been a huge Weller fan for years and years.

well, i respect your opinion but i don't share it that's all. I mean Weller's never really been that popular here so maybe that has something to do with it. perhaps if lived in England i'd like his music but i don't... i mean i've heard a couple of track from The Jam that i liked but other than that.... not much

His last album was one of his best. Why do you not like the song? Not a fan of soul music I take it.

I like all kinds of music, R&B, classic Rock, punk, alternative, rap, even fucking country, Weller sounds very boring to me that's all.

Well it has nothing to do with what Liam or Noel say, the jam was the first band I got into. I don't know how you'd class it as 'folksy'. I can only imagine that you've barely listened to any of Weller's albums. His a few songs off the top of my head that are great and easy to get into. I can't really get into Weller's solo stuff. Not bad by any means, I just can't get into it. Maybe one day, as I really do want to appreciate it.
His work with The Jam was phenomenal, though.

I liked some of Weller's tunes but the key for me was seeing him live.
Look back at the vid of Come on / Lets go from KOKO. The man can't even keep his feet on the floor. Then I saw the full set at V Fest Toronto 2008, I was blown away. The energy he puts out live is amazing. His band is incredibly tight, and he really is someone to see live.
So... boring? I don't think so imo.
That said, yes BDI should definitely do Fallon and Conan shows. If there is any kind of US marketing plan, these shows (as well as Kimmel) should be a part of that.
Will it happen? I'd be surprised.

I'd be suprised. that's what im trying to get at, why? WHY wouldn't he do it? do you think is just a matter of him simply not giving a fuck about the U.S. market? i mean he did say he thought BDI would be bigger than Oasis. Now, we all know that's never gonna happen, but having said that, wouldn't it make sense that if he was remotely serious(in his own mind) about that coming to reality, that he'd do some promo work stateside?

Sunflower Into Tomorrow Whirpool's End
Sorry to post off topic again. Weller is the man who was born with Union Jack on his back, Brits from top to bottom, so were The Jam and that was the big reason why The Jam couldn't reach the US.

I'm sure he cares. I believe he would love to put that sharp stick in Noel's eye, but he knows how hard it would be. Unfortunately, it seems good old fashion rock is a tough sell in the US nowadays. I think it comes down to how much will he put out for a little return. I mean people who are interested are gonna be there for it. Unless the music is totally different somehow, I have trouble seeing him pick up a lot of new fans. I still agree that doing a couple of these shows wouldn't hurt though. I'm just not convinced how much it would help. You live in the US. You love Oasis. Most people say huh? Get used to it. Doesn't bother me a bit. I will now listen to Whirlpools end. I suggest you try it.

well you're wrong, i am 23, my brother (who just graduated high school) and his friends all know about Oasis, I hang out with them every once in a while and they know Oasis, some like it, some don't but definitely they know they exist lol (now past tense of course) It's funny and those of you who live in England might not believe me but Oasis did pick up quite a few younger fans with the release of The Shock of the Lightning. Most people can't name the latest album but they know about TSOTL because it got a decent amount of air play on alternative rock radio stations

I already said that i have watched the there&then dvd, only i didn't watch all the crap Liam and Noel say between songs. i am sorry you "have no respect for me now", i never knew i had your respect to begin with but i am sorry you feel that way. You need to understand that Weller is not and has never been all that popular(if at all) in the U.S. Me not liking him... that's just me, it's an opinion. no need to get al riled up about it. It's not like im gonna go around convincing people that what i say is law. again, just relax lol
