This is a pretty boring thread.
Of course BE should get on TV if they can in the US. It's not really something that you need to ask people opinion on.

sorry you folks find it boring, but hey... we're all waiting for some real news and nothing's coming(not yet at least).
anyway guys, this is a forum, people can make a thread here about basically anything Oasis/BDI/Noel G related. You guys don't need to read it, just don't click on it, it's that simple.
I never ask whether Liam should "get on U.S. TV if they can"... it was more of "why wouldn't he do it?" since that's a lot of people(on the other thread) were saying they didn't think it'd happen.
learn to READ, especially if you're gonna be critical.

I should take this opportunity to take one thing out off my chest: I've got a massive crush on Paul Weller...

You guys don't need to read it, just don't click on it, it's that simple. I never ask whether Liam should "get on U.S. TV if they can"... it was more of "why wouldn't they he it?" since that's a lot of people(on the other thread) were saying they didn't think it'd happen. He wouldn't because he may not have the clout with the people that matter. There are thousands of bands that have or are trying to make it in America. All genres. From Tony Bennet to 50cent to Justin Beiber...and the all compete for slots on these shows. It all comes down to who the producers pick. The decision is not going to be made on any criteria on that we have access to the information about. It'll be things like: How well connected is his press agent in America to talk shows? Are any of the presenters/producers genuine fans of LAG/Oasis? How will the BE track do on radio in America? Will they be nearby and available when they record the shows? I don't remember that many people being sure that he wouldn't get on late night in America. He has a good chance @ Fallon since he was going to go on for PG earlier in the year but then got sick. So it isn't out of the realm of possibility. As for Weller. Weller got on cause he is proven himself to be great solo artist and, though he doesn't have a huge following in the US, I think that he has an elite following. He is well regarded in the music business worldwide and Anglophiles in America. So he was probably on because someone who matters is a fan. Same reason that I've seen Morrissey on late night TV.

Nah I don't think BDI will end up being one of those 40-years-late band reunions, hopefully they'll split before they start turning to shit.

there you go bro, that's the kind of feedback/input i was looking for. thank you. i agree with some of what you said, like where you said "someone who matters must be a fan", true, but i don't think you have to be that well connected to get on these shows. I mean take Letterman for example, Oasis has been on his show how many times? Im not saying all it'd take is for Liam to give the old man a call but come on! also, there are acts/bands that get on these shows who are complete unknowns, and then you have the days when they don't even have enough guests to fill out the 1 hour slot, think about it, why else do we see so many fucking animals(who do tricks) on Letterman and Leno? sometimes they can't get anyone to come on the show.

Yeah there are some really obscure and awful bands that get on those shows. I don't see why Beady Eye couldn't . I think enough people over here know the story of Oasis and how the two brothers didn't get along that they would be interested to see what the other one can do on his own.

You don't know that. I don't know that. I don't know how the decisions are made backstage. Maybe some of the producers know that some people really like seeing baby cheetahs, massive turtles, cute monkeys the size of you hand. They've been doing segments like that since before the days of Johnny Carson. Maybe the shows don't actually care that much about the musical act. This is still a boring discussion. He might get on. He might not. Neither will surprise me. If they can they should, if the can't, oh well.

If 80 year old Paul Weller with his boring ass sound(just my opinion) can manage to get on Kimmel, why not Liam and company? just saying... You should be killed.

I respect the fact you like him, i just don't feel the same way you do about his music, that's all. and they say I am the one "talking shit" ? come on now...

You lost that point with most before you began, mate.

Still doesn't mean that Beady Eye'll have the sway to get themselves in the door. Better chance than the average person. But the fact is that there are many bands that would kill to get on those shows and don't get to go on. What the shows have failed to find is a band that is either extremely popular and would benefit the show for having been on OR a band that they like really like that they want to give a boost. Latterly in their career Oasis were the former (they were will a big band even if they weren't massive in America) and BE will be the latter unless they have a breakaway single.

ok, you see what i mean? again, being attacked for not sharing the same opinion on a particular subject. very mature. judge someone else's looks even though you don't even have a picture of yourself so no one can say anything about yours. talk about giving Oasis fans a bad rep. loser...(sorry, i just had to say this )

(seriously? because I didn't bother to put a thumbnail of Noel or Liam as my avatar...give it a rest) But I'm not attacking you. I don't care what you views are about Weller. I am just giving a friendly suggestion that maybe the best way to start a conversation is not to include an inflammatory comment about a popular artist on this fofum in the same breath. I didn't say you had to like Weller. It's all the same to me.

some people do... most people don't, i get that... lots(not all) of them don't do it because they're insecure of their looks or whatever and think they'll be verbally abused and ridiculed/made fun on/etc. All of that is fine and dandy, quite understandable but if you don't have the guts to have your own picture up on this site, then don't go around "critiquing" other user's pictures.
