This thread is for your own opinion and possible recommendations. Not for piss taking! For me personally it's been a cracking year. Two James albums( , a great album by Paul Weller, a brilliant album by The Charlatans and Ocean Colour Scene. Not to mention magic albums from Kings Of Leon and Arcade Fire. My top albums so far are......... 1. Courteeners - Falcon 2. The Charlatans - Who We Touch 3. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs 4. Paul Weller - Wake Up The Nation 5. James - The Night Before 6. Chemical Brothers - Further

Pretty much tame impala's thing and Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me. Face it, people, music is dead.

Nah you're just looking in all the wrong places, dude. A lot of the year's big hyped albums have, in my opinion, been duds but there's stellar releases coming out all the time.
How good was Swans' comeback album by the way.

I found the Manic's latest rather disappointing, especially after how fantastic JfPL was. Pretty much tame impala's thing and Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me. Face it, people, music is dead. Flame baiting, ignorant opinion. Next please.

Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest... I don't think it can be topped this year.
I'm gonna start thinking about others later... it's been a good year for music

Falcon pretty much surprised me, expected them to produce a meh second album, but even though its not a classic, pretty fun and they still sound full of potential. On another note, Weller's the man. Wake up the Nation makes me

And James are moronic, IMO these 2 so called "mini-albums" would have made a lovely single album...

Los Campesinos - Romance is Boring right now I'm feeling this might be the weakest Campesinos' album... still good, though... but there's been some amazing music released this year. Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz

Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz I really like the new LC! album. I find it more consistent, and they have matured lyrically, too. I don't know how I'd rank their records though, as all 3 albums are genius.
