Watch us go through against Barca tomorrow night, only to be knocked out by a team like Marsilles. Would be so typical.
How many chances does this Arsenal team need?

"We go to Barcelona, to beat the Catalans. I just can't get enough" Hopefully.
I'm watching the tape delay version at 8pm, so will be avoiding the score, and therefore this forum until late tonight. Up The Arsenal!

Utter disgrace of a referee.
Should have been a red on Abidal for putting his hands around RVP's throat.
And NEVER a second yellow to RVP. Get the fuck out. Of course Barca were all over Arsenal in this game, but who knows what the outcome would have been with fair decisions.

We were 'robbed' in the first leg, no one said shit about it. The sending off was right by the book. Anyway, he should have been sent off when he hit Alves in the face deliberately in the first half. Koscienly could have gotten 3 yellows...
Cesc looks like he's finally leaving this summer too.
I feel it for you guys though. Arsenal could have won the thing, had they gone through.

Arsenal could have won the thing, had they gone through. No, they couldn't. Those players don't have it in them. No experience and no heart.

i watched some of the match yesterday. and yeah, Barcelona had possession of the ball more and overall played better but one of my problems with soccer (yes, i call it 'soccer', get over it.) is that the referees seemed to be blind, incompetent or corrupt.

They are playing the best football in England, I think. Better that United lately. Except for this last game, anyway. I think it's their worse game ever. I don't remember Arsenal not shooting at goal in 90 minutes before tuesday.

Except for this last game, anyway. I think it's their worse game ever. I don't remember Arsenal not shooting at goal in 90 minutes before tuesday. I actually think that was part of Arsene's strategy. Nullify Barcelona with a completely defensive formation for 70mins, and then bring on Arshavin and try to nick a goal late (as we tend to be the fittest team around, and have shown countless times in the past that we can score against Barcelona late on). We were doing pretty well, if this strategy was the case. We defended solidly, with Djorou and Wilshere having immense games. And we even nicked a goal early on in the second half. Who knows what would have happened if we had 11 men the entire time. Like wise, who knows what would have happened if Barcelona were down to 10 - and they should have been for Abidal's throat grab on RVP (shocking that UEFA won't look into that at all). ^ How is that not a red card? I would seriously like to know. Of course Barcelona are the better team, and therefore the better team did progress. It just would have been nice to see it done in a fair way, one not so negatively influenced by the ref.

Arsenal should of adopted the strategy they had in the second half at the emirates, teams are fearful of Barca hence they sit back and try to soak it up but if you go at them with their fullbacks HATING defending they can be nullified. Think Dani Alves was virtually playing as a forward tuesday night

Absolutely unjust result. The game was perfectly even, and if anything Arsenal controlled it for the most part. This is how it's been going for us for the last 3 weeks. Unbelievable.
Let's beat Utd on May 1st to clinch the league, and all will be forgotten. But for the smug Utd fans out there: the scoreline more than flattered you. Jammy bastards.
EDIT: Scholes should have been sent off. Unbelievable.

But for the smug Utd fans out there: the scoreline more than flattered you. Jammy bastards. Dream on. Possession is worthless if you do nothing with it, and despite Arsenal's supposed dominance United could have had about six themselves. And all this against a midfield made up of three full-backs and a Carling Cup midfielder. Just a typical Arsenal performance. Plenty of bluster and no end product. But still, it's not all doom and gloom. When they start handing out trophies for missed opportunities I'm sure your lot will be at the head of the queue. May 1st indeed.

I turned it off at 2-0 down in the 60th min. I was disgusted and disgraced. Denilson is terrible, and WTF was Almunia thinking?
I switched over to the Utd game in hope they would drop points. I checked BBC and saw we clawed it back to 2-1. So in the 75th min, I switched back to Arsenal just as we equalized. I was over joyed, and will never doubt Arsenal again.
But Utd ended up winning, and we had a clear penalty denied right at the death.
Still, 5 points back with a game in hand and Utd to come to the Emirates in May, with 9 games to go.....still all to play for. That Utd game in May is going to be massive. I've had this belief for weeks now, and I still hold on to it: If we beat Utd at the Emirates, we will win the league. It's that simple.
But my god, those last 90mins saw me go through every emotion possible.

Fuck Arsene Wenger. He deserves every single boo that rings 'round the stadium today. No fan should boo his own team off the pitch. It's counterproductive. And I think his players deserve at least some of the blame for failing collectively, yet again, to impose themselves when it matters. Perhaps Arsene should start by instructing them to watch this evening's Match of the Day. United's football might not always be pretty to watch, but by jove they get the job done.

I just don't get it. Well, I do, cause we have shit players like Almunia (who almost cost us multiple times today), Denilson, Diaby, etc.... But Arsenal really are the nearly men. It's so frustrating to watch. The loss to Birmingham was horrible, but I shrugged it off thinking we would actually win one of the other competitions this year. Nope. Arsene has lost so many Finals in his reign -- The FA Cup Final in 2001 (when it was in our grasp), the UEFA Cup Final in 2000, the Champions League Final in 2006, The Carling Cup Final in 2007 AND 2011....and coming close in the league in 1999, 2008, and now 2011 Basically, Arsene is resting on his laurels, and his record really should be better than it is.
