Alligator - The National Still so brilliant. I'm happy for them that the world finally found them with High Violet. They had to go through a long way and they deserve it more than anyone else. Though Alligator and Boxer remain their best work to me and High Violet was/is their peak. Looking forward to seeing them again in September. Only a few weeks until their new album. I’m looking forward to it. X

I kept the nostalgia going this week, but only listened to albums from 2013. These albums are a decade old now 🤯 Arcade Fire - Reflektor David Bowie - The Next Day Arctic Monkeys - AM Beady Eye - BE Primal Scream - More Light Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires Of The City Black Sabbath - 13 Kanye West - Yeezus Pusha T - My Name Is My Name Tyler The Creator - Wolf Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels Daft Punk - Random Access Memories Disclosure - Settle MIA - Matangi Major Lazer - Free The Universe Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Mosquito BRMC - Specter At The Feast Queens Of The Stone Age - …Like Clockwork Nightmares On Wax - Feelin’ Good Atoms For Peace - Amok New Order - Lost Sirens Nine Inch Nails - Hesitation Marks Crystal Fighters - Cave Rave The Strokes - Comedown Machine The Flaming Lips - The Terror Placebo - Loud Like Love Wiley - The Ascent Benga - Chapter II Chase & Status - Brand New Machine Daniel Avery - Drone Logic Rudimental - Home Congo Natty - Jungle Revolution Snoop Lion - Reincarnated Smerins Anti Social Club - Primordial Cordial Also: Scotch Bonnet Records - Puffers Choice compilations 1-3 I still love Yeezus but, oh Kanye, why did you have to go off your meds and come out with the Hitler comments 😅 Snoop’s reggae album, where he extols the virtues of healthy fruit juices and condemns global warming, was panned by critics at the time, but is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. What were the Yeah Yeah Yeahs thinking when they signed off that album cover? Mosquito is a decent album, but I rarely listen to it purely because of the dreadful cover. X

I still haven’t got round to listening to all the recent Beatles mega-box sets. Really need to make time for that. X

I love Machine Gun Etiquette. Smash It Up is the most emotional song I’ve ever heard about smashing things up. I also really like their goth album, Phantasmagoria. X

For those of you who still appreciate a physical album, Plastikman’s Sheet One is a design classic. Back when it was released a kid in Texas was arrested for possession of controlled substances when a traffic cop saw it in his car 😂

George Harrison - Cloud Nine.
I originally found a mint copy for £3 in a charity store, so never knew how much more it tends to sell for. So when a mate wanted it i said he could if he bought me 3 pints…..not one of my finer moves 😂
Finally bit the bullet and got another copy. I think its his best solo LP after All Things Must Pass.

Barrie has done loads of bands recently including LG’s live band while Bonehead was recovering. Worth a listen, big Doors influence on this album.

I actually got a ticket a few weeks ago to see them tomorrow night at Alexandra Palace (which started the binge) and then later realised I can’t go because of work - and I can’t sell the ticket either! My fault for getting overexcited. Good floor seats too.

I like that album too, some good moments on there. If you’ve heard George Live in Japan, it features most of those songs live with Eric Clapton.

I just listened to Graceland by Paul Simon, Revolver by the Beatles and Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys in a row.
They're doing some Dutch music top500 or something at the radiostation I usually listen to between 9 am and 8 pm so during those hours I'm avoiding that station at all costs!
