I think Gorillaz are very good - I'm not a huge fan but they interest me. Only thing I don't really like is the hip hop collaborations on some songs, but other than that they're very good.
They cross many genres in one album which is really interesting about them, but can be hit and miss aswell. First album is okay, Demon Days is very good though. None the less, I will be intrigued to listen to the new album.
Not too keen on this new track, but there's bound to be good ones on the album.

Love it, Damon's voice is awesome, he's getting old and his voice has changed, but for good IMO The album's gonna be great, he's a genius, and the collaborations can be very interesant, especially Mick Jones and Paul Simonon

Seems to be the case. Think they say something about it in the film they made. Sounds to me as if the album/tour/film was just an excuse to make some money.

I think if it truly was, then they would of kept going. I like to think it was more to correct the past, finally finish it with the real band (get Coxon back), and to prove that they still haven't lost it. I get chills watching the video of The Universal at Hyde Park! Pretty good tune, all of the back story and nonsense that goes into the cartoons is stupid, but that's a good tune.

Blur is not over, Rowntree said the last week they were going to do some gigs, maybe not this year, because Damon has lots of albums and projects, and Graham's also concentrating in his solo work at the moment, but maybe in 2011 they'll come back again with a worldwide tour and a new album

It's only a web rip, right? I'll wait until a real leak, but I'm liking all of the positive remarks here!

I think the best album of the year will be by Arcade Fire or Radiohead, but Plastic Beach is just amazing, Damon is out of his mind musically right now, I hope he gets back to the studio with Blur and release another 13

I think it's rubbish. Sure, it has a lot of nice featurings and all that pretty production, but it's pretty much dull compared to Demon Days. It's also REALLY LONG at 16 tracks.
Will they have the same success with this as Demon Days? No, because I don't think it's going to grab the attention of the mainstream bobbleheads that like everything they hear on the radio. In the US, it's sure to flop because it's just not playable between stuff like Lady Gaga and Jason Derulo like Feel Good Inc. is all the time. A lot of it reminds me of Clint Eastwood, which I liked, but not a whole album of it.
One of the main things I don't like about it is that it's too artsy for me. It's one of those albums that will probably be REALLY good live, and caters to the people that like their live sets. Lyrical? Well, I just think "Superfast Jellyfish" will end up on a McDonalds advert or something. I think the whole creative process that Gorillaz is, well, they're trying to paint a picture using music.
New single is okay, but sorry, not having it.

But who cares about sales and success in charts nowadays? and specially in the USA, were, except Vampire Weekend, all the top 1 artists are shit; anyway, there are some songs that can be a comercial success, like Superfast Jellyfish or Rhinestone Eyes, being the last one absolutely amazing And I think On Melancoly Hill is Gorillaz's To The End, that kinda song that always make you smile
