yeah sure... he admits mistakes after he is asked several times, LIES, and then notices that there's recorded evidence... that's the right moment to "admit a mistake" so the huge 2007 fuck up was Alonso fault too? c'mon... it's too much even for you brits.

Alonso traded Ferrari spy info with De La Rosa when at McLaren only to reveal it when he wasn't getting undisputed McLaren No 1, held Hamilton up deliberately in the pits in Hungary when qualifying, was getting mad in US GP 2007 when Hamilton refused to give way and quite possibly could have been involved in the Singapore Crash Gate, so he's no angel. All this is worse than Hamilton's fib to the stewards.

Can't say how pleasing it was to see Button win in great fashion today. He proved his critics from last year wrong and showed us why he is a worthy world champion. Well done to him.

(You're not pissing anyone off, Floppy, because you've established yourself as an idiot several times in this thread alone. A real Alonso fan would pay more attention to Alonso, probably the greatest driver in Formula One, and less attention to a guy who he fell out with three years ago. Maybe you'd enjoy the sport more if you stopped living in 2007, and embraced the fact that your fella looks likely to win the championship in 2010. But what do I know - I'm English and I don't know anything, right? Typical stupid English.)
Chuffed for Button! Not afraid to take a risk is he? Imagine the boost that's given him. Out of him and Hamilton, he's got the first win. I bet he made the most of the celebrations 'cause he knows McLaren have got some way to go before they can win on a regular basis.
Was unsurprised to hear Hamilton complain about his strategy, even though at the time it made just as much sense as any other.
You still have to feel sorry for Vettel though. Let down by his car again! I doubt Button would've caught him, to be honest. Must be so frustrating knowing you've got this amazingly quick car but it could break at any moment.
Off to Malaysia then!

Tim Pallas calls Lewis Hamilton 'a dickhead' over Melbourne motoring
Australian government minister Tim Pallas has called Formula One star Lewis Hamilton 'a dickhead' after he was stopped by police for driving erratically at the weekend. Agree. Now the conspiracy theories may arise...is Tim Pallas a racist? is he spanish? to be continued... www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddballs/819548-tim-pallas-calls-lewis-hamilton-a-dickhead

Off to Silverstone this weekend. Ridiculously excited! Got brilliant seats at Luffield, looking from the last corner right the way down the new Wellington straight into Brooklands. As I'm an English Formula One fan I'll stand and applaud whoever wins, but I'd still love Jenson to bring it home in first!

Awesome pictures. What corner were you sat at - I was thinking Becketts but I'm not sure.
I was looking at your other photos - I love the one with Alonso's Ferrari in soft focus.

Cheers Matt, I was sat in Luffield B, the best view I've ever had at Silverstone because you can see down the "new" Wellington straight into Brooklands, which had plenty of overtaking! Then they're into Luffield which bunches them all up a bit, and there's always someone getting a drag out of there down to the start/finish line. Was listening to 5 Live all race so knew exactly what was going on with the help of the big screens. If I go again next year I might as well sit there again! Very highly recommended.

I can understand why Ferrari made the decision (even though it deprived everyone of a fantastic duel to the finish), but can't understand why they had to be so obvious about it and treat everyone like idiots. It's hard to imagine any other team, at this stage of a season, doing something like that. Fact is it's against the rules - and I know it happens at every race but most teams are subtle enough to get away with it.
Alonso is surely the greatest driver in the field, he should've had to put a bit of effort in to win that one. $100,000 is nothing in Formula One, but then what would a fair punishment be? It was a decision by the team, and the drivers have to obey if they want to keep their jobs. Maybe a loss of constructer's points would've been better. I feel so sorry for Massa and Smedley.
But you can always rely on Sniff Petrol on Twitter to have a laugh about the darker side of races: "That is the SHITTEST coded message in history" . . . "A better code would have been 'Let the MOANING LITTLE vaginaBAG GO PAST'" . . . "Still, it's not like the man in charge of the sport's governing body was, until recently, the boss of the team that's cheat... oh, wait". Worth a follow!
Still it looks like we've got a serious fight on for the championship now! I expect McLaren to get themselves together over the summer break and then we'll have a six-way fight for the drivers' title.

The team did it very very bad, but Fernando deserved to win, Massa was too dangerous, and, after what happened with Vettel and Webber, Ferrari didn't want their drivers to crash, but how can you make it so bad? We all knew Fernando was going to be faster than Massa, then just make Massa wait 3 seconds more in boxes, and that's it. At least the championship's going to be interesting, I hope Alonso or Vettel win. Well, actually, I would be happy if Hamilton doesn't win

Well, actually, I would be happy if Hamilton doesn't win If Alonso wanted to win, he should of done it on the track - but once again he has moaned over the radio to let him through. I'm sorry but that is not world champion material - we've seen drivers get preferential treatment (obviously the shambolic Austria 2002 and Australia 1998) but I've never heard anyone apart from Alonso constantly complain over the radio. This has happened before, namely when Hamilton got under his skin in 2007 (and beat him hands down). I think he's the most selfish and arrogant man in F1. He's not the best driver either, as much as he likes to think. At least 4 drivers have put in better performances than him this season, and personally, Hamilton and Vettel are the best two drivers - Hamilton personally the best because he's a real racer, he's exciting to watch and he relies on skill to get past folk on the track. Anyway, I've never seen an absolutely spellbinding performance by Alonso (unlike Hamilton, Schumacher and Vettel) that goes down in history.

Hamilton is not, and calling Alonso selfish, arrogant and moaner and then say Hamilton is better is quite funny, you know, he's been there with his daddy and the FIA always. Let's see, who else, Vettel? right now, he isn't, he's still a bit unexperienced ( see the crash with Webber this year ), but he'll be the best driver, Webber is very good, but I don't think he has the attitude that a champion must have, just like Massa. Then we have Button, who has won a championship because he had a great car, he's a good driver but that's it. And Fernando has had lots of great races, see his two championships with Renault. By the way, I'm SURE Fernando would have get past Massa without letting him, but the team didn't want another Red Bull incident, and Vettel was coming fast ( he almost ended second, that show how a great driver Massa is ) , so they couldn't take the risk. Oh, and the teams do that always, but they tend to be more careful, like McLaren does, so I don't know why people are hating on Alonso for that, when it happens all the time, I'd just call Ferrari a bunch of stupid people who don't know how to drop a hint properly
