Fuck the haters Coldplay is a great band. Parachutes is one of my favorite albums of all time. A Rush Of Blood To The Head is a great piece of work. X&Y isn't that good its bloated and over done but isn't that what BHN is? But then again no offense to the Coldplay boys they don't have that loveable attitude that makes their bloated work as good as BHN. Thats just me but lets not make this a coldplay vs Oasis debate. Viva got them back on their feet while X & Y wasn't completely shit Viva got them back on their feet and got them really exploring their options as a band. Its not a great album but its a solid album and I feel like they are gonna release a helluva good album with their 5th. Coldplay is one of the best bands of the decade and with out a doubt the biggest band to come out of this decade.
PS I'm seeing U2 tonight, get pumped.

Coldplay quite easily. Everyone knows who they are.... for better or worse. If they were to split up or retire tomorrow though, I'd be tempted to give it to KOL. Ever since "Only by the Night" they've blown the fuck up over here and now seemingly everyone listens to them.
I'd rather see Kasabian be the next biggest but it seems unlikely.

If Coldplay broke up tomorrow, I can't see many nations mourning it. I can't see it making more than 3mins on the news in even England. Compare that to Jackson and Oasis recently Also, compare it to if U2 broke up tomorrow. That would be huge coverage, too. I hate U2 and Cold Play equally, but no way in hell is Coldplay the biggest band in the world. Your logic is stupid, anyway. Everyone knows Britney Spears, for better of for worse. Does that automatically make her the biggest? Like fuck it does. [Furthermore, "biggest" implies likability, so your "for better or for worse" line is flawed, too]

Ive decided it isnt either of those bands. Its Bruce Springsteen and E street Band. There so immensly powerful live and all greatly talented musicians, and the songs are so much better than most of these dull bands.

Out of these I only like Kasabian and U2. U2 are a dead horse.

Like many have said, those bands are already established. There is no new phenomenon that's just arrived

[Furthermore, "biggest" implies likability, so your "for better or for worse" line is flawed, too] You've got to understand that Coldplay have sold the most records recently out of all those bands, hence why they are the biggest. Maybe they're not the best, that's entirely your opinion, but to me and many many more they are quality - and we listen to quality music anyway, not Britney Spears.

I voted for Muse because I think that they have the most growth left in them, but the reality is that it's going to be someone that very few of us has heard of.....
As for the Coldplay debate - interesting stuff. I think that Coldplay's first record was one of the best records of the past decade. That said, I think that they've been hit and miss since, notably ALL MISS on X&Y. At any rate, you can't argue with success and they deserve a lot of credit as they are a good band, good people, and really give back to the world.

Most of those bands already were as big as they could get.
I would go for Kasabian since they are one of those bands that all people love their songs but don't really know the band's name. They just need a commercial successful album to show the world who they are

Never been a fan of U2, once you've seen one KOL gig you've pretty much seen them all, the rest are strong contenders but Kasabian win it!

He used to praise the first two albums. Then Coldplay made the mistake of becoming bigger than Oasis, and he decided that he didn't like them anymore. I haven't heard any Coldplay-bashing coming from Noel. Liam thinks they are shite...but that isn't new. But Noel has always said something along the lines of "to the disgust of the rest of the people in the band, I am a Coldplay fan" He has been critical about their constant bleating social messages...but that isn't the same thing He doesn't praise their albums anymore...but that might actually have something to do with the fact that he knows they don't need him to at this point. They are past the point where they need him to champion them.

U2 - a pile of shit. KOL - a bird had a shit in their mouth. That makes them shit. Coldplay - boring. Radiohead - fans are ugly. Take That - Robbie Williams. Enough said. JLS - Shit. The Backstreet Boys - Disgraceful. UB40 - They were half good forty years ago, but now they're shit.
Kasabian - Awesome! Radical!
Beady Eye - the next big rock band.

Coldplay the biggest band in the world? WTF are you on about? U2, as much as I fucking hate them, still own that title over Chris Martin's yelping wannabes. Give me a fucking break. I honestly don't think you've listened to any Coldplay records. You're the sort who has heard Viva La Vida and Speed of Sound on the radio and gone 'yep, they're shit' without giving their records a chance. I'm no fan of their really mainstream stuff, but it's when you get to the real gold, songs like Amsterdam, Politik and Cemetries of London that makes me think 'what a brilliant band'. It really pains me when people hate them just because they're uncool and I seriously don't know what Chris Martin has done wrong when at the end of the day, he's just a decent guy. If Noel Gallagher had wrote A Rush Of Blood To The Head (the song) you would probably cream yourself. I have all their albums. For every good song there's about 5 boring, samey and droning ones. Don't care what people say, I'll take Be Here Now over all of Coldplay's best work on one CD.

Poll makes no sense. When was the last time Oasis was the biggest band in the world? They were also never the biggest in the world without dispute. Never really cracked America, which is the biggest music market on the planet, whether you like it or not.
