Oasis (along with The Beatles) is my favorite band ever. I consider Oasis to be The Beatles of my generation, and they have sung the soundtrack to my life. Hopefully they get back someday, Id hate to see it all end for good like this. You know they have so many more songs in the vault just waiting to be released. But if this really is the end, then Id like to thank Oasis for being the last true great Rock N Roll band. I loved the bands sound, style, attitude and honesty. They were a rare break. Live Forever Oasis

I was a little late to the Oasis craze. I first heard Champagne Supernova about a year and a half ago. Ever since that moment I've listened to Oasis constantly and they became my favorite band in about a month. I know this may sound cheesy but Oasis have changed my life. Ever since I've listened to them I've been happier and if I'm ever down there was always Oasis to listen to. Of course, living in St. Louis I was never able to see them live but I had planned on a possible trip to Chicago on their next tour. This news absolutely crushes me in every way but I thank Oasis for being such a great band.
Live Forever

Forgive for being cynical but i don't think this is the end Seems pretty ominous to me. Judging by Noel's statement, it sounds like he's had enough.

What can i say ...if this is true i will be very very upset almost as sad like i was losing a family member.....
Oasis are and always will be the best band i ever watched in my generation.
And you know why ?
It's because they sang songs that you could listen to a million times over unlike bands now days.
They had this magic stage presence between the brothers which no other band captured or has captured since.
On any given night liam could find something in his voice which would make an old song sound like it was recorded and released just the other day.....
There tightness when playing live was amazing which is also very rare to find in new bands these days.
And in the end just over all enjoyment when attending an Oasis gig the build up any fan or even a non oasis fan can tell you when the boys hit the stage the roar from the crowd was like a soccer player scoring a goal which is also rare in bands these days.
If it is the really the end for Oasis i really can't put into words how much i love Oasis and what it means not being able to watch them live or buy there albums anymore.
I think John Lennon said it well when the beatles finished he said it's not that bad you can still go into the shops and buy our records and play our music and that still gives me hope.
Also Noel has said many times in 50 years time you can walk into a music shop and find alot of music under the O section and they did there bit for music.
I take my hat off to the boys even if i had a 50 million dollars it could never ever repay the enjoyment they have given me over the years and that nobody can ever take away.
It's time another band has the guts, balls, and passion Oasis had to step up and make another generation of rock fans get excited about rock and roll music like Oasis did for us.
Live forever and Stay Young

its definitley not the end they will definitley get back together again and tour People are awfully confident about this given that Noel, the co-founder and chief songwriter, has gone on record as being relieved to have quit the band. To me this seems different from 1995, from 2000; there's almost a sense of closure.

Well you can't deny that with a smashed guitar it has ended in true Oasis style. It's impossible to choose sides here - Noel shouldn't have been talking about a long break during the tour, and Liam shouldn't have reacted so violently.
I'm glad I've been able to see them before they split. I don't think we'll see another band with this kind of talent and energy for many, many years.
Thank you for the good times!!

All I want to say is this: whether or not this is the end, Oasis have had an immeasurable impact on my life, and I owe much more to their influence than I can even begin to explain here. So, if this is really it, all I can do is express how privileged I feel to have been around to see and hear their music. They will never be replaced.

i dont think a day has gone by in the last two years where i havent listened to oasis that will continue
they always say u cant call a band legendary until they break up
i think everyone already knew it but oasis are legends and deserve to be remembered in forty years

Thank You For The Good Times
Thank you for the songs
Thank you for the gigs that I was fortunate to have seen
I didn't get into Oasis until I was 15 in 2000. I first heard the Be Here Now album then bought the rest and I have been gripped ever since. I just cannot describe the impact that they and the songs have had on my life. I have always ALWAYS listened to the songs on my computer, on my ipod, on the televison.
For me, there will never be another Oasis...I can almost imagine this is what The Beatles split
