No matter what, and I mean now whatever, ever, happens and no matter how down people might feel about this or anything in life really, they should remember the very thing and spirit of this band and what it promoted. Life itself. It's why I truly hope no one will have any sinister thoughts. Let's try and retain a sense of perspective, shall we? seriously.

Anyone else see this on the main page?
"The group's spokeswoman said Liam and the other remaining band members would consider whether to carry on without Noel, the chief songwriter and lead guitarist.
She said: "I expect in the next couple of days a decision will be made as to how to continue or if they continue.""

I don't know how I'd feel about them keeping the Oasis name though. Maybe "The Rain"?

Bump. Its quite interesting, I've read the whole thing, and let me tell you, things changed a little bit I think since a couple of months. I still remember I felt quite strange that whole month. But hey, it wasn't that terrible!

I mean, When they canceled the US / AU tour in 96, i was shocked / upset to say the least.... but it didnt kill me.. i was over it in a few days... Altho i suppose its easier to take now too 'cause i am 1) older and 2) have a lot more of their music to listen to.. i can imagine if they did split in 96 then i would have always thought.. i wish they had recorded more albums...

I dont believe this bust up was any worse than what came before, Noel was simply done with oasis and when this happened it gave the reason to walk off, I highly doubt Noel wouldve carried on with oasis after DOYS anyway, the band was at an end even before the bust up, there wasnt a good atmosphere on that tour.
it worked out for Noel because he was able to make out that he was essentially forced out by Liams actions when in reality he probably wanted to go anyway, this event was just the last straw and confirmed that it was time.

Probably this ^^^ with the additions for me that unlike say the SOTSOG tour Noel wasn't under the influence of medication and feeling fragile, so he probably had the guts to say "I'm out" unlike the previous era, and once again Liam could be made out to be the sole reason for it. I think from a money earning perspective after the DOYS tour if they had finished the tour they might have made another LP simply as there was space and time ( (c) Richard Ashcroft ) away from each other as on previous album/tour cycles before regrouping for another round of recording, rehearsing and touring. As it is though we will never know due to an unfortunate fruit related event it came to an abrupt end.

The Be here now thread has over 200 more pages than the thread when they broke up... I suppose it shows what the peak era (1994-1997/98) meant and still means to people when put against their latter era, which I do like myself but let's be honest classic Oasis descriptions and moments would centre around the former period.

It's pretty remarkable how you can wind time back on forums like this and basically relive some of the biggest events in British music history as they were happening. The album releases, rumours, leaks, comebacks and this, obviously. God I love this site.
