To keep the trend that has developed over the last 3 years, here's the official Arsenal thread.

Thank you Toure for 7 years of great service.
Now Wenger, go and spend your 40million + on a Striker, Defensive Mid and Center Defender, and do it now

His best years were with Big Sol The Legend but he doesn't cut it without a world class player beside him. Also, some of the transfer money will go towards re-financing the debt, but surely at least 2 players will be bought. Anyway, fuck football - Schumacher is back in town!!!

Well considering you never use them, don't worry to much if you have to eat them.

I want it to happen. He's still miles better than the joke that is Denilson and the other defensive midfielders in Arsenal, and for a bargain, cut wage, experience AND quality, nothing can go wrong. Bring him back please Arsene.

He's still miles better than the joke that is Denilson and the other defensive midfielders in Arsenal, and for a bargain, cut wage, experience AND quality, nothing can go wrong. Bring him back please Arsene. True. But he's old now. Put it this way: If it's between Veira and no Defensive Mid, then I go with Patrick, of course.....but I'd like someone younger, if possible. Still a bit peeved Wenger let Alonso get away last summer - him and Cesc in the middle? That would have been ideal. Wenger must be bluffing when he said today that he doesn't need to strenghten. What a load of crap. If he doesn't buy a substantial player or 2 before the end of the deadline, it's curtains for our season, and possibly even him.....

Wenger says this is the make of break season: www.facebook.com/home.php#/note.php?note_id=122574686910&id=20669912712&ref=mfI'd have to agree - as I said last season, and as I still believe going into this one: This is his last chance, if he doesn't win a major trophy, he needs to go - either by sacking or resignation. Don't feed me the line "who's going to replace him" cos I don't know, but I'm sure we can find a good enough manager. He's been resting on his laurels since 2005. I love the man, he's a genius, and he's our best ever manager, but he's starting to destroy his legacy - last trophy won will be half a decade ago if he fails this season. That's not good enough. Now, what constitutes as a major trophy? Ideally, the Prem is the most important (you can say whatever you like about the CL, but that has so much luck involved, the league is the most important), but FA Cup and CL are both up there too......Carling Cup not so much, but if he only won that at least it would be a start He claims this has been a 4-5 year projection and now would be the time it comes to fruition - if true, then he really is a genius for planning it out that way. However, with Denilson, Diaby, Song (even though he improved), Bendnter (who despite scoring has shit skills, lets be honest here), and a stuborness not to correct our DM problem I think he's wrong - at least when it comes to the Prem (the other comps are cups and are based on luck of the day). But then again - Rosicky, Arshavin, Fabregas, v Persie, Eduardo, Sagna, Nasri are all amazing.....and Theo, Wilshere, and Vela could be added to that list should they improve....who knows what we're instore for. I predict 4th and 3rd at best. Now, if we compete like we did 2 seasons ago and finish no more than 5-6 points off the pace, I'll have very little problem with it..... Here's to Saturday. (BTW, Everton away will be no easy task.....I do think dropping points will be a real possibility, I could see a 1-1....if we lose, this season is already over. I'm sorry, but you just cant simply lose your first game of the season to a team who's going to probably finish below you when you can only afford to lose 4-5 games at most out of the 38, and still be champions, it aint gonna happen) ESPN and FSC are both covering it in the US. Can't wait. Let's hope for a 2-0 convincing win.

He claims this has been a 4-5 year projection and now would be the time it comes to fruition - if true, then he really is a genius for planning it out that way. I would argue that a manager of his stature - at a club of Arsenal's stature - ought not to be weighing up the possibility of long-term failure in the hope that he might eventually construct a team capable of mounting a serious title challenge. That's a poor excuse, and you ought to see right through it. And if you genuinely think an opening day defeat constitutes the end of your season, then you're fucking daft.

Can't wait. Let's hope for a 2-0 convincing win. Fucks sake, how long have you actually been supporting Arsenal? Arsene Wenger is the greatest thing to have happened to the club and I think he deserves our patience for the success he's given us, and the way he's gone about giving it to us. Nobody holds on to the belief that football should be entertainment these days, apart from Wenger. He makes it a necessity that football is played the right way, and he doesn't go overboard with finances and he has made this big club by not being obsessed with money. He built undoubtedly the greatest Premier League team from 2001-2004 by not spending ridiculous amounts like his fellow managers. The fact that Arsenal went unbeaten in 2003-04 is worth more than just one league title - it firmly nails down a legacy. I haven't even scratched the surface as to why this man is just pure genius. I think he deserves our patience for as long as he likes, because I know there are some plastic Gooners on this board who would rather see Wenger get sacked. As long as Wenger believes he can do it, I believe in him aswell. I will never lose faith in the guy, because without him, Arsenal would of become nothing. Long may he continue to hold the reigns at Arsenal I say.

Wow. Just wow.
Denilson is shit and has a long way to go before many of us are convinced, but scored a real cracker today. Vermealen heads home on his debut. How many times have we seen Gallas score those in the course of a season? And Fabregas, my boy, added 2 more. And Eduardo always always always finds the back of the net. Always.
Saha always scores against us. But it's a mere consolation. Commentator: "Saha doesn't bother celebrating, he knows there's no point" - that says it all really
Song and Bendtner really impressed me
6-1. Brilliant. Especially considering this is a team who finished directly below us last season, and going to Goodison is never an easy task.
It's only one game, but we're at least sitting pretty at the top already. Let's keep it up for the next 37 games. BTW, this is much more pleasing than scrapping a 1-0 win against WBA as we did last season
