First off, I love Oasis and have been to dozens of shows around the world, so I'm as sad about this as you are. Don't shoot the messenger. But this info is the truth, so everyone try to stay calm.
A few months ago, you can check my posts, I first told you guys that Oasis had canceled what was to be an outdoor venue tour with Weezer.
Initially, I heard from an impeccable source that Oasis planned to instead return to the U.S. in the Fall.
Today, I talked to the same source who said that Oasis had "postponed" touring in the USA this year altogether. He did not know if they plan to come back in 2010. He also didn't know why they weren't going to play the States this year.
I can't believe that they would only hit such a small number of U.S. cities for an entire tour, so I'll hold out hope that they will return next year. But again, I have no idea if they will.
I'm as bummed and pissed about this as you are.
I have no more info than that.
Keep the faith. See you at Wembley in July. And hopefully back in the States for Oasis shows in 2010 - I still want to believe they will be coming back.

Damn...this is not good news. But thanks very much for sharing. And hopefully a 2010 tour can still happen.

They did it it 2006 when they came back through the States on the DBTT tour. And idk, but my friend heard directly from Noel that they were most definitely coming back in September and that Boston was the only show that has been booked so far. Just sayin, but your source could be wrong.

It's a bit suss that they havent announced anything for september at all yet.
As for the states, you can't really complain. They were there last year, after all. There's plenty of places that havent had them this tour and some that havent had em since the 90s.

If they do announce anything, it's quite possible that we wouldn't hear anything about it till July at the earliest. That's still 3 months out from September. They were already talking about coming back here when they were touring in December last year, so it's not totally unlikely that they wont. Unless Liam and Noel punch one another out

Unless Liam and Noel punch one another out July would be two months from September, I'd have thought. And I can't speak for your neck of the woods, but around these parts gigs are announced and on sale a lot earlier than two months before the gig. In 2005 the gigs went on sale on June 15 and the gigs were in November/ December. ACDC (different kettle of fish, yes) went on sale last monday and the gigs arent till February 2010.

if this is the case I feel bad for Boston and Toronto. Great fans in both places. That said its hard to blame the band for passing on the states after that weak showing in December. Most arenas were 2/3 empty. LA + Vegas rocked and MSG was monumental. Philly was just ok (6500 tix sold). So yes this sucks and I hope it not true but as every day passes its starting to feel that way.

Chicago almost sold out... as usual, we are the biggest Oasis fans in the midwest (and possibly the country).

if oasis wants to sell out these arenas they need a new hit single. it's sad really but a lot of people don't see past recent singles and as good or bad as you may have thought any of DOYS' singles were, they were just not that radio-friendly.

Nope,....only 6000 people came to see the lads in Chicago.Anyway,...they fill big arenas in places like New York,Boston or L.A.,but they have to play theater shows in the rest of the country!!!Come to play the FOX in Atlanta!!!

If this thread was a piece of toilet paper, Id of pass this to my co worker, so he can wipe his ass with it! I want them to come to the US as much as the next fan, however the US to the Lads is NOT priority at all. There's money to be made here but, there's a lot of work that goes along with it, N&L arejust not that "up for it" anymore. South America, Asia and Europe is where the MEGA ca$h it at. And not too much work entails it too. I mean, they played GIANT stadium/grounds gig in S.America, something (and it pains me to say this) they can't do out here. I personally don't think they'll do any US gigs in 2009 and quite frankly by 2010 DOYS is too "old" to tour. Y'all shouldn't worry so much about US tours, they'll happen whenever N&L want them to happen....Only glimmer of hope is that Noels made it clear he digs L.A....

Noel was on talksport a few weeks ago in the uk. Him and russell brand were pulling a prank phone call on the white house pr department and he said 'i hope this doesn't affect my visa application for september'. He later said that he wanted to join up with ruseel brand on the radio again after the tour ended in october

I went to the Chicago gig and remember it being sold out. I'm pretty sure there was more than 6,000 there.

It definitely wasn't sold out in Chicago. There was still a lot of room in the upper sections.

Why should they tour in the States? Nobody buying they're records over there... They shoul do more touring in Japan than US (Which is not the case), cuz more people buy they're records over there.

The crowd are always quite and dead in america,,, i was at the LA Staples and people were sitting down complaining when people stood up FFS..Compared to the Uk,S.america the crowd are fucking having it! i have seen Oasis in england twice and the crowd were really great... I mean Oasis have toured america in December the played a few big shows to give the chane for more people wanting to see them. But not all of the gigs were completly sold out. the only gigs that sold out were ... Madison square gardens and vegas.

I had bronchitis when I saw them and I still jumped and screamed my head off like I was healthy. Hmmm this is pretty bad news for me. Well at least by the time they tour again here, I'll have more money for better seats and tour merchandise! ;D

Next tour ( ?fingers crossed there'll be one) around, I'm totally going to go see them in the UK and maybe south America. Anyone who says the crowd has nothing to do with the gig, is fuckin off their rocker. If the crowd suck, the band aint feeding off it and it then reflects in the ATMOSPHERE and total gig exp. So since our crowds suck (and I'm not saying YOU personally suck) the band feel like "why should we bother to tour out there?" I mean seriously? If you're a in a band, I'm sure you're going to want to see the crowd going mental, chicks fainting and getting carried out of the pit, crowd surfing throughout the gig, total controlled friendly kaos. You're up on stage and look out to 18,000 fans and 90% of them are just standing lifeless, you might consider the gig a bust, IMO.
