I'll start
Name: Amiina Genre: Ambient, Instrumental So, who are they: They are the right hand of Sigur Rós. A musical quartet wich music is made with a great number of instruments. It contains elements of minimalistic style, contemporary classical, ambient, and electronic loops. Example
I like this shit, where do I start?: They only made one album so go with Kurr
Name: Godspeed You! Black Emperor Genre: Post-rock So, who are they?: They are a Canadian post-rock band, known for their long epic orchestral stylings, wide volume changes and apocaliptic/political themed songs. They don't use a vocalist, rather voice recordings in the street of some interesting people. Their music was also used in 28 days later (deserted London scene) Example
* the actual song is much longer I like this shit, where do I start?: I'd go with F# A# Infinity
Name: Hayehudim Genre: Hard Rock So, what are they?: They are an Israeli hard rock band, known for their energetic and strong vocal rock songs. I discovered them by accident (while researching Israel music out of boredom). All though I dont know what the hell they are singing about I love their catchy songs. Example
I like this shit, where do I start: I'd go with their Live album, but their albums are a pain in the ass to find.
Name: A Silver Mt Zion Genre: Post-rock So, who are they?: They are a Montreal based post-rock group lead by the mastermind behind GY!BE Efrim Menuck. They are known for their string/guitar lead epic songs with amateur choir and amateur voice singing. Example
I like this shit, where do I start?: Start with Horses In The Sky
Name: World's End Girlfriend Genre: Modern Classical, Electronic, Post-Rock So, who are they?: Actualy it is a he, and that he is Japanese born musical genious Katsuhiko Maeda. Known for his epic somewhat classical pieces crossed with electronic drum beats (not like in techno but more like in trip-hop). Example
I like this shit, where do I start?: Start with Dream's End Come True
Name: Siddharta Genre: Alternative Rock So, who are they?: They are curently the most popular rock group in Slovenia. Example
I like this shit, where do I start?: Start with Nord

I'm not going into so much detail. But check out War Stories. They're from around San Diego, California. I saw them when Kasabian came to Cleveland, and honestly, they played better than Kasabian. Hangin' On: Lion: One of their old unreleased songs from before they were dropped from Columbia: www.myspace.com/warstoriesmusic

Most of the bands I posted must be well known by some but I post them so people that haven't get a taste of some of the best music ever done, imo... well, certainly better than the fucking enemy and twisted wheel

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Television I've all heard of. Some pretty good stuff. I like Nick Cave. Idol sent me an album of Neutral Milk Hotel years ago and I quite liked them and Television are great. Orange Juice - I'm pretty sure only a few people on this forum know them, but they had such a melodic brilliant tunes. One of my all time favourite bands. (take care Mr. Collins)

I've been getting into Apollo Four Forty alot lately. At first listen, they sound electronic but they are realllllllllly alternative. They're mostly known from movie soundtracks though which is why they aren't more popular
"Stop the Rock" "Lost In Space"
