An Australian band that's the absolute bollocks and who suppored Oasis on their 2002 Aus tour is You Am I- endorsed enthusiastically by both Liam and Noel at the time. Both bands got on famously in fact.
You Am I don't have the local or international success of an Oz band like say, JET, but boy are they better. They've been around since 93 and have rocked exceptionally well and very hard since then over the course of numerous releases. Often a little ragged but they've 'just got it' as Liam would say. And they span the spectrum of belters and ballads.
Check out a multitude of their music releases on You Tube...

That's the issue once again, the bands that make it aren't necessarily good - they are just popular. Which is why this thread should be about WHY or HOW bands get popular and become sensations like Oasis - not WHO will.

"bands in the 00s (noughties) look bored and there music is shit.... only bands that are good to come since 2000 are: kasabian arctic monkeys (wont stand the test of time) the enemy glasvegas (but songs are bit depressing)"
Kasabian are good, but nothing special. I mean, have you heard Empire - bitterly dissappointed - a huge pile of crap
Arctic Monkeys - lame, try too hard to be as important as Oasis
The Enemy - well, I don't know where that came from
Glasvegas - good, but will anyone care when their second album comes out?
The best bands to come out of the 00's are Doves, Elbow and Coldplay - those are the main ones I can think of. It may be unfashionable to like Coldplay, but you can't deny that Parachutes and A Rush of Blood To The Head are absolutely brilliant albums.

Yeah, I agree with your points. Music really needs to be shaken up again like it was in 1994. There's too much dance and rapping etc nowadays, The Arctic Monkey are the best band in Britain atm, their 3rd album is out later this year and that should put rock back at the top of the charts.
