The kids playground sound effect at the start of Record Machine on HFB is the exact same soundbite they use on the 'Raisins' episode of South Park at the beginning of the episode when the kids are playing in the school yard Wow. I've gotta go and check that out!

Here's some: Listen Up on the Cigarettes & Alcohol single is longer than the one on The Masterplan album - 8 bars of the solo were cut 2m 19 into DYKWIM? (album edit) the word "through" is badly sliced together. Listen carefully - sounds like Liam has a stutter 2m 45 into Slide Away, the vocal edit is really bad and there's another Liam stutter - s-slide away... actually the whole end of solo into the verse is truly awful

Noel played Married With Children differently in 2004 at the Zanzibar and the 2005 tour to how he played it on the Stop The Clocks tour. 2004/5 version was G - B7 - Em - Em7, A7 - D7 - G. 2006 onwards it was G - B7 - Em - Em7, C - D - G. (It's Good) To Be Free also got a change of chords. For the electric album and original live performances, the bridge was C - D - Em. However, for the acoustic version, this reverts to G - A- Em7. Talk Tonight never gets it's G - D - Em7 - D - C - D bit live these days (near the end) that it does on the original... yeah, bit bored tonight

2: The really low voice on Columbia during the "This is confusion..." part I thought I was the only one that noticed this I noticed it too. It takes a few listens, but when you do find it, along with the high/low split on the chorus, and the awesome guitar work buried beneath the 'wall of sound', it makes the song sooo much more awesome. The remasters have helped make it easier to find, but it's still placed very carefully to make it a sort of gem for us listeners.

I remember hearing that for the first time. I thought it was a bit creepy. It's cool.

1. Theres an irritating 'blip' at the start of Little James. If its intentional it makes no sense, and if its unintentional its shoddy editing.
2. Liam seemed to lose a lot of his confidence and humour some time during the be here now tour or after it. Watch an interview with him from 1997 or before and he is funny and playful in spirit, displaying open body language. Then watch a SOTSOG era interview and he's much more uncomfortable, less talkative, less funny and generally less confident. He also started fidgeting with his nose when being interviewed and it has nothing to do with cocaine use. He wasn't sniffing or rubbing his nostrils, but just fidgeting with the side of his nose a lot. I first noticed him doing this on the Big Breakfast in very early 2000 whilst being interviewed by Johnny Vaughan and it seems to be a subconscious sign of somebody being uncomfortable and wanting to hide their face. To clarify, i'm not saying Liam Gallagher isn't confident, im saying he wasnt AS confident after Be Here Now had been released and criticised.
3. Noel isn't the same godlike rock n roll star since going solo. He doesnt even wear a leather jacket on stage or play any crunchy riffs any more.
4. Noel plays a bit of D' You Know What I Mean? before Wonderwall on the MTV Unplugged gig.
5. This Notes For You by Neil Young sounds like Supersonic.
6. Liam looked completely stoned during Fade In Out at GMEX in '97.

Everyone with working ears is aware of those. It's most certainly "pick up the bass" for those who are indeed hearing impaired. Yer mugs. "Pick up yer face" on one of the nights in wembley IIRC Who Feels Love(Open G) is the only song not written in Standard or Drop D(Bag It Up/The Turning)

Live I think Bring it On Down, Turn up the sun (?) and Rock n Roll Star have the B string tuned down too...

"Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly" from Falling Down sounds like " These could be the best days of our life" from Digsy's Dinner. Does anybody else hear this or is it just me? Nice find. I never noticed but now i hear it

Noel sounds REALLY bored when he says 'pick up the bass' on GLIO at the belgium mtv gig in 2000.
At earls court 1995 when Noel plays wonderwall and says 'Can you put the lighters away....you're not at an elton john gig' he gets the words 'at' and 'an' the wrong way round. So it ends up being 'you're not an at elton john gig'.
On the mtv unplugged video as noel is about to play talk tonight you can hear him say 'oi wheres everyone going? i thought you was staying here' but his lips aren't moving. It must be some kind of editing continuity glitch.

Turn Up The Sun definitely is EADGAE, as is Mucky Fingers, Shock Of The Lightning, Lyla and I think there are some others - pretty sure Stop The Clocks is. The Nature Of Reality is dropped D tuning, as is Bag It Up, The Turning and Waiting For The Rapture.

I'm sure others have noticed these but thought I'd add them here anyway.
A vibraslap can be heard springing away on the backing track of She's Electric... thanks to Tom S for pointing the name of this out.
And an Ice Bell can be heard in the SACD mix of Champagne Supernova (it's noted in the tracking sheet for the song in the CD booklet of the MG reissue)
The bell can be heard at 2.55 in the above video, and elsewhere in the track.

Having received the MG box set with the SMS reissue vinyl, I realised something about the SMS cover- the windows of the station aren't broken as I used to think they were. They feature pictures of a volume control, Noel's Les Paul's body and then the headstock. The farther away windows have guitar pictures too. It only took me 19 years to realise this!
