Its been slightly over six months since its release. I think that's a fair amount of time to give a really good, honest opinion on something. I can honestly say, I really like about half the album. BIU, TT, TSOLT, TBWTL (Best song on the record! Hopefully it stays in the setlist for a long time). AGN is ok.
The rest of the album is largely forgettable. Including everyone's beloved Falling Down. I'm just not feeling this record any more large in part because the songs go no where. WFTR, FD (repetitive as fuck), GOYHHL (see FD), SO, IOT (I really like the acoustic version though). Kind of indifferent to NOR - a little too much of a rip off of helter skelter.
Well...**raises glass**..Here's to looking forward to the new record and putting DOYS to rest.
Your thoughts 6 months on?

I still love it. It's a brilliant album. BIT, TT, WFTR, TSOTL (wasn't a fan of this when it was released but now I see it's greatness), FD, SO are all great to classic, TBWTL is very good tune as is AGN which is let down by horrible lyrics, NOR is decent but the melody and the lyrics are SHIT, I do like HHL very much since the first time I heard it.... and IOT, well, I'd rather have a different song. I liked that song but I'm a bit tired of it by now. Imo it has no replay value
DOYS is their best since MG, even rivalling with that

Great album, liked the new psych-blues approach, 9/10, only TNOR didn't worked for me.
People have to see this album as a whole, not song by song, this was Noel intention, just like some Pink Floyd albums.

Not a bad album at all, but I predict it won't age well, like Heathen Chemistry. A lot of people seem to be sick of it these days.

I have to say that i honestly haven't listened to it as much as I used to, but about once a week or so I'll put it most of the way through. I really never gave Bag It Up a huge listen (don't know why), and it's a great opener and good song, but sometimes I just don't feel it. The Turning I have always been fond of and love it, Rapture grew on me, TSOTL I run to everyday and it gets better and better and better. IOT I also don't listen to much but I really enjoy it (lyrically mostly)..GOYHHL is alright but clearly a filler, FD I really really love, probably my favorite on the album, always impressed me from when the album leaked in August and I love the single release with the remixes. TBWTL I give extra appreciation because they fucking blew the roof off at MSG with that jam at the end. AGN, NOR, and SO I haven't listened to in a while...I have been getting lazy with it a drop but overall I think its definitely a positive album, not one that I am reluctant to listen to, and something that I am very very glad has the Oasis name on it.

I still like it. Soldier On and TSOTL have grown on me and TBTWL has lost something for me, and GOYHHL is still dogshit, but overall this is a quality listen.

Fantastic album. In my opinion, BIU, TT, WFTR, SOTL, IOT, FD are all Oasis classics, and the rest are great songs as well. AGN is just mad rock n' roll, HHL is just plain cool, TBWTL is a great song, NOR is pretty good, I especially love the last line and the crazy outro, and SO is a good song. I'm glad Oasis are back on track and I look forward to their coming albums.

It's the only Oasis album which I've only listened to a few times. Oasis are one of my life time bands (1. The Smiths 2. The Jam), but to me, it's the worst album they've ever made.

Shite album, dull as dishwater, their worst by a mile - has one really good track (Falling Down) which is strangley probably the best song Noel has penned since the MG days.
Think I've listened to it all the way through about three times.
It's got a good cover though.

6 months on i'm still loving the album. Think it sounds very fresh and is one of my favourite albums Oasis have done in a long time.
Surprised by some of the negative comments. Dont think its lazy or that, has some great tunes on it. Still not keen on high horse lady or aint got nothing, the other 9 i love

6 months on I find myself only really listening to Noel's Tunes. I kinda skip the rest most of the time. I think once you get past Falling Down the rest of the album is fairly week.
Falling Down just keeps gettin better for me, it's class. I think all of Noel's 6 tunes are brilliant.

I never play it. If I do it's just a few songs - Shock, Outta Time, Falling Down and WFTR (alt version).
Like mimmi, it's the only Oasis album I haven't listened to over and over again. This and DBTT which was also a little flat.

Usually I think Q Magazine are load of vaginas, when I first read their review I was cursing their reviewer out in the shop for not 'getting' the album.
However (and it was nothing people weren't writing on message boards I'm sure) after about 2-3 months, I realised they had it bang on - they praised Noel's contributions while remaining unenthused about the rest. After the inital excitement, I listen to the first 4 tracks obssessively and then my motivation to carry on ebbs drastically.
I'm Outta Time heralds the start of boredom, I admit I thought it was pretty...I dunno, OK? on first listen but it really has palled a lot with repeated listens.
The biggest brainfart by somebody was not recording To Be Where There's Life in the arrangement they play live, it would have been monumental - blow your head off racuous riff-rock, and a much needed kick up the arse to the soporific 2nd half of the record. It also should have been a duet as it is live with Noel and Liam's vocals mixed cleanly together to bring out how well their voices contrast. In comparison to the live versions, the studio version is boring as shit.
I'm glad they tried something a bit different with it though. I don't buy many other CDs apart from Oasis, but I didn't hear much else on the radio (Kings o' Leon and The Killers were two IMO) that were releasing better pop-rock songs than the first four songs on this album.

I'm sure that song is one of the highlights of their concert.

To me, nothing has changed! It's still my favourite album by the lads. Can't get enough of it! May 9th will be one of the best days of my life! "TO BE WHERE THERE'S....OASIS"

I don't listen to it as much, but I still like it. I think I'm one of the few on the forum who find Ain't Got Nothin', Soldier On and even The Nature of Reality pretty good. Get Off Your High Horse Lady is still rubbish though, regardless of how many times I listen to it.
I think its unfortunate how its been unappreciated by many other people mind. I bet half of my friends would be clueless of its existance if it weren't for me telling them about it :/. I mean how can a song that goes 'My life would suck without you' (I can bare some pop music, but that...) and The Saturdays can stay in the charts longer than I'm Outta Time and Falling Down beats me.

Its the best since Be Here Now imo, there are some great songs that we will look back upon as classics im sure, such as IOT, TSOTL, FD, BIU, TT, TBWTL, but the album is really badly let down by AGN and TNoR, which are just pure shit. High horse lady is absolute uber shit.
It's a good album, Im sure it will only get better with time.

I still feel the same way as Day 1:
BIU, TT, WFTR, TSOTL, IOT, FD, and TBWTL are all amazing in their own way (btw IOT is average on apple/sony headphones, but on good $100 expensive head phone and/or good speaker set up, IOT and many other tunes from DOYS sound SO much better)
HHL shouldnt be good, but Noel's vocals are infectious.
AGN is poor, but good energy
SO is a grower, nothing special but not as poor as i first thought
TNOR is shit, bar the solo.
What a good album
DM WTSMG BHN/DOYS/DBTT SOTSOG HC
The 3 albums are SO hard to separate: DBTT flows the best, BHN is the most exciting, DOYS is best produced and on par lyrically to DBTT but more ambitious and bold
Really: DM, WTSMG, DOYS, DBTT, BHN.....the hits from SOTSOG.....the singles from HC....you can't go wrong.....
...This is a SPECIAL SPECIAL BAND. It's ashame more yanks can't see what the rest of the world sees....

How many of use have realized how special Oasis are, from 1994-2009, they have been untouchable. This band is amazing on so many levels.
