i wish heathen chemistry had songs like "viva la vida," "life in technicolor" and "lost?" (sorry revolver  ). cause hc is unlistenable. i tried listening to it recently and had to turn it off after just 20 seconds into "the hindu times." I cried 20 seconds into your post :lol: |

I cried 20 seconds into your post :lol: Hahaha..... yeah, well. There is no way this album is better than HC. I liked Viva La Vida. It's about 6000 miles better than X&Y. That being said, Coldplay have gone past their prime and the only album they've put together that is truly magnificent is Parachutes. |

Its just an amazing album. That era of coldplay is easily my favorite. I do like their second but its a tad weaker than their debut. |

Coldplay suffer cos they desire to be U2, it's really sad and it's been their downfall. But que sera sera. Plus Chris Martin is a boring twat. Get a personality, ffs Thats the most blind and ignorant thing I've heard all day. Chris Martin is the one of most charismatic frontman around. Their resemblences to U2 suggest that they do not wish to copy U2 but to follow the same beliefs. Coldplay bother to show that they give a fuck about things. They actually get off their arses. Something which in itself would be major news if the Gallagher brothers were to bother doing. Even if they got lazy and sat down afterwards. Coldplay use their popularity to raise awareness. Because I think its fair to say that if Noel said we should all only eat fairtrade produce, obsessives like you would be drainwashed into doing so. And would never shut up about it on this forum. Their recent album is shit, but you dont know what your talking about man. And no, I do not go to a better "uni" than you before you go ranting on about your superior intelect in order to compensate for your lack knowlege and ignorance on the arguement. |

I tried listening to that album again the other day, but I couldn't make it - got up to Lost and was like "to hell with these cringe worthy lyrics and Martins irritating vocals"
Horrible album.

One thing that would have helped Viva La Vida a lot would have been to take out Lost! and put on Lost? and put Life In Technicolor ii instead of the other one. Life In Technicolor ii is one of their strongest songs.

When Coldplay were Coldplay (first 2 albums) they were good
When Coldplay became U2 wannabes (last 2 albums) they lost it.
Whatever, they're the media darlings and no matter how shit their albums are, they will be forever loved. Really annoying. Oasis are the real deal, who, ok, have disappointed occasionally, but bc of their attitude they suffered, while bands like Coldplay get away with murder. Sigh.

But since BHN, no one has given Oasis any credit and continue to write them off (although some critics have come around since DBTT) But that hasnt been the case with Coldplay, no matter how poor they are, they remain "amazing" in the eyes of the critics. Double standards make me sick. (If anything, Oasis should be applauded for their honest, down to earth, attitude.....but then again, I'm biased) |
