is it rumoured that it would be an OASIS gig or a festival? it's a big stadium like Wembley, but would Oasis be able to fill it in PERU?

I'm not sure, but if they sell out open air venues in Chile and Argentina, why not in Perú

well whats the point in that
it would be like playing on Henman Hill at Wimbledon
Why go all the way to Peru and to a big stadium and not play it

WOW!~!
if they can sell out the Monumental... i think that's a 60 thousand + venue. I've been to that stadium a couple of times when i lived in Peru. pretty sweet stadium btw. i heard R.E.M. went to some other stadium in Peru also like a month ago and they sold out the thing.
Oasis is much bigger than REM in all of SouthAmerica so it is possible.

Translating for you guys: If no tragedy happens, Oasis plays in South America between the second half of April and the first half of May, with gigs in Lima, Buenos Aires (1 ou 2), Santiago and Brazil (2 ou 3). The tour will probably start in Lima, Peru, on Estádio Monumental's parking lot, on Thursday April 30th, and would end in Rio de Janeiro (at HSBC Arena, maybe on May 16th. But that's only unofficial gossip, so far.

also the REM sold out thing was a festival really? i'd think that was a concert in other stadium (around 30,000) with Travis.

At least not here you're in colombia dude, we're talking about Peru. for the umpteenth time, i lived in peru for several years and i know FOR A FACT Oasis is bigger than just about any other band(that's still going). the exceptions of course, being U2, Coldplay, maybe the RHCP and believe it or not Blink182.

I'm from Peru and I don't think they fill a stadium, except it's a Festival like Travis & REM. Besides, KISS is playing on April 14th and it'll be in a stadium. They say the same producers are trying to get Oasis here in Peru, but will not make it official until they sold more than 50% of KISS concert, so we will have to wait and see...
