Sad but true. Heard from an impeccable source today close to Weezer.
Weezer instead is now planning to tour with Blink-182 this Spring.
No word on what if any alternate plans Oasis has.
I'm sure everyone here will be upset about it, as am I.
This is no joke. Sorry for breaking the bad news.
That's all the info I have, nothing further. If I get any Oasis U.S. updates, I'll let everyone know as soon as I hear.

BTW, Blink-182 is getting back together, in case you haven't heard that. Not that anyone here probably cares.

they split in 2004, about 2 weeks ago Mark Hoppus, the bassist said that the band has started hanging out again, and that a blink reunion wasnt out of the question, but it wasnt gonna happen in the near future. They are appearing together on stage for the first time since 2004 as presenters at the grammys on sunday

I'll get some shit for this but blink-182 was a really fun band for me. Catchy songs and there was an honesty to them that I really liked. They didn't pretend to be something that they weren't like so many of these poser-bands today. They're alright by me...

I like some Blink 182. They're last album was by far their best if you ask me. They really grew up on it, so if this is true then I'm pretty excited

So are there any plans for Oasis in N.A. in the near future? Fuck Blink 182, I want Oasis in NY

Oasis are touring N.A. regardless of what Weezer does. I agree that Blink's last album was their best. "I Miss You" was fantastic.
I doubt Weezer "ditched" Oasis. If anything, it was the other way around. The fans wouldn't mesh well together at all.

I saw the lads at Summer Sonic Festival in August 2005 as the headliner and Weezer played just before Oasis.

I think the main concern with touring with Weezer is that it would make them a big enough draw that they could justify the much bigger venues (15k+) and then they could save substantially on all the costs involved in putting on shows for 15k people a night. In that case, Doves and Kasabian don't really help fill the venues quite to the same degree. Oasis has considerably less booking power without Weezer.

if this is true maybe Oasis will play some smaller venues? I really hope so, I can't stand arenas, I hope they go back to playing 3000+ venues and doing multiple nights. If this is true I am glad we won't be battling Weezer fans for tickets or at gigs.

Wasn't feeling the Weezer-Oasis gig anyway! You can't mix nerds with alcoholics at a show.

This is good news. Would've sat out Weezer anyway. Kasabian would be a top choice.

I didn't get to catch the Kasabian guys for the show at Merriweather in '05 so I wouldn't mind them being on this tour...If they're gonna do a co-headlining tour I'd like to see 'em w/ Foo Fighters.
