I just got back from the show. I took a lot of pictures, as I was sitting in the 8th row. Webby will be getting a bunch of exclusives, so check with him soon!
Ryan Adams was alright. He was a bit mellow, which was a nice change. I had a 10-second chat with him after his set, as the crew were setting up for Oasis. Seemed like a cool guy, though a bit stand-offish.
The crowd wasn't that good. Considering it was snowing really badly outside (and still is as I'm writing this), I'm sure that some just skipped the show. The Broomfield Event Center was a crappy venue- a really small arena. It was only at half capacity. Oasis are one of those bands that plays well if and only if the crowd is electric. You don't really get that in the States, so their show was a bit average.
The lads did not look like they wanted to be there. Noel was being a bigger dick than usual. He asked if there were any cowboys in the audience. Then he asked if there were any Indians, and if not, did the cowboys kill them all. The crowd didn't really take kindly to it, and for good reason... this is a subject of the former British Empire saying that. He also called out a bunch of kids taking pictures, saying, "Is the photoshoot over? Am I in the way of your shoot?" It wasn't particularly nice of him to do, especially considering that everybody drove in hazardous conditions to get to the concert in the first place. I heard some boos during both of his comments. Sorry, folks, but that's not the Noel we know.
There wasn't much electricity in the audience. They were all there for "Wonderwall." I found it a bit ridiculous, but what are you gonna do?
Chris was on form tonight. He seems like the drummer Oasis always should have had. He was the perfect mixture of the pure rock and power that Zak brought to the group with the jazzier fills once played by Whitey.
Liam dedicated "I'm Outta Time" to John Lennon, as it was the 28th anniversary of his murder by Mark David Chapman. He was hit or miss with the song. He couldn't hit the high notes, but he sounded just like off the record for the rest of the tune.
He was more outgoing with the audience. He threw his tambourine into the audience. Although it was thrown to a girl, some guy caught it. Liam pointed to him to give it to her, and went to the mic and said, "I thought cowboys were gentlemen!"
Highlights of the show were Supersonic, Champagne Supernova, Cigarettes & Alcohol, DLBIA and Wonderwall. You know, the ones people know.
Overall, the show was good. However, compared to the other shows of theirs I've seen, it was one of their worst. I blame the crowd and arena. It was a terrible choice of venue, really.

Good review. What was the attendance? Shame about Noel and his remarks. Have you heard the 2001 (Brotherly Love Tour) Denver bootleg from Fiddlers Green? Noel makes fun of the Denver crowd with similar bad comments. God knows why he has to say such things. I was in Denver last year. I spent 4 x nights in the city centre. Nice city

well the venue was 19 miles away from denver. So that is not going to attract the very casual fan who has to make the trek (in bad weather no less) to see the show. This one will be written off quickly. They have Chi-town and detoirt rock city this weekend so that wil be good for the band....

Good review. Thanks for sharing it with us, NYR. I'm seeing them next month and quite curious who's gonna support them on their European tour (The Coral supported them 3 years ago). I hope everyone who's gonna see them will have a great time and fingers crossed for eva, Petrucci and a lot of the members on this forum.

people who stand and snap pictures the entire show should be ridiculed. i hate it and so do many others. in l.a. there was one girl who stood a couple rows in front of me and took pics the ENTIRE show, nonstop. it was obnoxious and distracting. how many fucking pictures of liam and noel did she need? i'll bet she walked out not even remembering the show since she was so busy snapping away and checking out her pics. the digital camera is the worst thing to ever happen to concert crowds...put the camera away and enjoy the show.

Noel has become an elitist snob. His sense of humor is great, but he tends to take it too far a lot of the time - especially with his paying fans.
Liam is much more appreciative of those who put him where he is - the fans.

Chill out. Americans don't "get" Oasis because they don't get their dry british humor. Some people just need to relax.

What time have the lads been starting their shows at, with Ryan opening? I am going to be front row in Chicago, and believe me, there will be no flashbulb going....well, maybe a few. We have a bit of a drive from Milwaukee, so I do not want to miss anything....also, has there been any "meet & greets" going on at all?

In LA which had a 7pm ticket it was Matt Costa 7-7:30, Ryan Adams 7:35-8:30 and Oasis 9-10:45. If there is 2 openers, assume 2 hours after the time on the ticket.

This isn't the first time I remember Noel making fun of cowboys, I vaguely remember hearing it on a boot from the DBTT as well. I think he just fucking hates either the area or cowboys (for the latter, I don't really blame him).

Some people just need to relax. i love british humor and personally thought it was mean spirited. i'm not even a coloradan and took a bit of offense to what he said. people don't pay good money and drive in really, really bad conditions to get antagonized by the people they pay to see. maybe if you got your head out of your ass and your nose out of noel's, you might understand that. and westerberg, i completely agree with you.

I go to dozens of shows a year and tend to find antagonistic performers or performers who refuse to forcefeed the crowd the hits or even shows rife with difficulties or where the performer bails early a welcome relief as most shows I go tend to go off almost a bit too perfectly.
