What I'm saying is, I think a lot of people put DM ahead of WTSMG purely because DM came first and it was the debut album. No. Most people have DM and WTSMG tied, as do I However, DM gets the edge not for nostalgic reasons but because I prefer the rock albums over the anthem ones. That's what it comes down to - do you prefer raw rock or polished anthems? And any way, while both albums are virtually tied, DM is still ever so strong....WTSMG has those filler tracks - the few pointless instrumentals, etc And since my first album was BHN, that proves my point that - for me at least - ranking DM as first is not because of nostalgia. Come off it. You're doing it again, your opinion is not law.

DM-10/10 MG-10/10 BHN-9/10 SOTSOG-9/10 HC-6/10 DBTT-9/10 DOYS-9.5/10 yeah my ratings are pretty weird and some of you may think I'm off my rockier labeling BHN,DBTT,and SOTSOG as 9/10 but those albums are really some of my favorite albums of all time. Yes, I listen to other shit but I just fucking love those albums. BHN,DBTT,SOTSOG all tied and even though SOTSOG has those 3 medicore/shit songs that album is fucking amazing. I listened to BHN last night for the first time in a while and its still a great fucking album love it. DBTT is just pure class.

I mean, I love Oasis and there really aren't any albums that I don't like......HC, SOTSOG and DBTT are all fantastic records and I isten to them all the time. DOYS is the only real exception about liking albums - listen to it a lot but I haven't quite started liking it, yet.

Yeah, I'm the same. I like a lot of the songs but can't seem to really get into it for some reason.

hey, of course: the reason why so many people from uk tell evreyone and themselves, too, that it was that air of freshness which BLEW THAT ALBUM THROUGH THE COUNTRY: IF you look at other states, for exeample, germany(my country), it looks different. noone cared about their debut in 1994 in the rest of the world, but mg gone through the roof, musically and commercially. thats why mg is THAT album-and for the rest of the oasisfans throughout the word -which is the most important and the best for fans. mg has NO filler(the instrumentals you cannot even see as interludes.... , dm has that...shakermaker...most of the time ai am listening to it, im bored after 2 minutes.....same with supersonic(ansd i AM an fan...i really just can stand that song drunk or live...ask nonoasifans...most of them tell you its the most boring song they ever heard...at least here in germany), up in the sky...dull as fuck, digsys dinner(pointless)........... for example:in visionsmagazine from 2005 or so, mg ranked at no10 of best albums of the last 20 years...dm was at 38 or sth...same with other countries...even worse. dm its just an nostalgic thing which had a fresh breath and gave sth to the youth of that time. its def. nostalgia....but also it has rnrstar, liveforever, bring it on down, cigs&alc, slideaway, (sorry, i forgot columbia to list to the boring songs of that album), married with children, but nowhere it comes close to morning glory...musically

Two words. 'Hey Now'. I can see what you're saying about how Britain views DM a little differently to the rest of the world. But I prefer it to WTSMG because it's a little less mainstream.

Definitely Maybe is Oasis' greatest album because of the music, it's quite simple really.

Yeah, but if you're talking what your favourite album is there is a fair amount vested in when you got into the band, what the impression of the band was at the time, etc. I missed it all because I got into Oasis in before Heathen Chemistry came out

After about 6 weeks with this new album, Im not that crazy about it any more. I like Bag It Up, The Turning, The SHock of the Lightening (normally the single is the worst song of the album), Falling Down, I'm outta time, TBWTL. The rest of the record is largely forgettable. I thought Waiting for hte Rapture would grow on me, I like the crunch of the song, but its repetitive. Nature of Reality, High Horse, Soldier On.....all just ok.
I think I have to revise my list. 1. MG 2. DM 3. DBTT 4. HC 5. SOTSOG 6. DOYS 7. BHN
For the record, I am of the camp Oasis has never really written or made a shit record.

I'm in the same camp as you, but I have DOYS as my least favourite.
So whats' BHN doing BELOW an albums that you said isn't really very good?

Just flip them chief. I just realized I put BHN last.
6. BHN - Instant classics - i hope i think i know, dyknwim, don't go away, fade in out, and some instant shit - girl in the dirty shirt, magic pie. Too BIG of an album. My only qualm. Songs too long. 7. DOYS

I'm still shocked at how some people rate HC highly, but criticize both DBTT and DOYS...... I think some people over-rate albums on the basis of their singles. I would say that Hindu Times, SCYHO and Songbird are better than any song on DBTT, but there is no absolutely no way HC is a better album. DBTT is a solid album with no weak tracks, whereas HC has half an album full of filler.

DOYS is a solid album, but I doubt any tracks on it will be as memorable as the singles on HC. An album with one song which I'll listen to for the rest of my life is better than one with a lead single I won't remember in a couple of months IMO.
