Since we've had 1 month to ponder, where does DOYS fit in your rank of Oasis albums now?
For me:
1.) DM - 5/5 2.) WTSMG - 5/5 3.) DOYS - 4.5/5 4.) BHN - 4/5 5.) DBTT - 4/5 6.) SOTSOG - 3.5/5 7.) HC - 3/5
If the #10 was stronger, as someone else suggested in another thread, then it would fully rival WTSMG and be another 5/5.....it just falls short of that mark.
But BIU, TT, WFTR, TSOTL, IOT, FD, TBWTL are among their best work (TBWTL is debatable, but still a great tune nevertheless). I fucking love this album.

MG DM BHN (My favourite Oasis album but DM and MG are clearly better) DBTT DOYS SOTSOG HC
Fantastic album. I'm still not sure on whether it beats DBTT. DBTT is an absolute belter of an album an so is DOYS. IMO both of 'em right up there with the albums of the decade.
As you have mentioned in multiple threads, DOYS would be top 3 (for me) if it had a strong song at track 10.
TBH I don't think Oasis will ever make another album as good as MG. Infact it would nearly be impossible as MG is probably the best album ever.

(My favourite Oasis album but DM and MG are clearly better) That doesn't make sense. Surely your favourite is the best if not it wouldn't be your favourite? No?

DM MG
BHN DOYS DBTT SOTSOG
HC
Top two: Two of the best albums of all time. Next four: Flawed greatness. HC: Take out the singles and you have a compilation of some of the worst songs Oasis have ever done.

01. Definitely Maybe 02. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? 03. Dig Out Your Soul 04. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants 05. Be Here Now 06. Don't Believe the Truth 07. Heathen Chemistry
In my mind I include b-sides and everything that came from that era.
Top 2 are untouchable and will never be moved from there. For me it's debatable which is better between DM and MG as both albums are perfect. It all depends on my mood.
DOYS is their 3rd best album clearly better than every album besides the top 2.
SOTSOG, BHN and DBTT are very close but thats my conclusion today . It's possible that could change every day as all 3 albums are as good as one another.
I really like HC but it just isn't as good as the rest.

I know that I've been holding off on my opinion because I'm trying to give DOYS a fair chance, but as it stands here's my delivery:
1. Morning Glory (10.0) 2. Definitely Maybe (9.8) - though better than MG, not my fave 3. Heathen Chemistry (9.5/10) 4. SOTSOG (9/10) 4. Be Here Now (9/10) - my favourite Oasis album from 2002 until about 2006 6. Don't Believe The Truth (7/10) 7. DOYS (4/10)
SOTSOG and BHN tie. I can't for the life of me pick out the better album. One day it'll one, the next the other. They are both classic albums. So it's hard to say.
FYI, the Masterplan, though not a studio album is 9.7 out of 10 and would edge off HC

1. MG (9.5/10) - Partial swamp song (twice!) fucks up the perfect score 2. HC 3. DM - 4. DBTT - 8.5/10 - IMO, the second most fun, rocking album they've made. 5. SOTSOG 6. BHN 7. DOYS Lots of love to BHN and DOYS! Not hatin on the albums! Its just my ranking.

I'll do it in 1-5 stars. 1 star is shit and 5 stars is classic.
Definitely Maybe - ***** (What's The Story) Morning Glory - ***** Be Here Now - **** Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants - ** 1/2 Heathen Chemistry - ** Don't Believe The Truth - *** 1/2 Dig Out Your Soul - ****
The Masterplan - ***** Familiar To Millions - ** Stop The Clocks - ***** (Despite leaving out some brilliant tunes you can't argue with the greatness of the 18 songs presented here)
Since I'm bored I'll rate each album's b-sides too:
Definitely Maybe - **** (What's The Story) Morning Glory - ***** Be Here Now - *** Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants - *** Heathen Chemistry - * Don't Believe The Truth - ** Dig Out Your Soul - *

I didn't really get into Oasis until a while after their worldwide peak (around DBTT's release, or maybe a little bit later), so I may have a different perspective regarding their albums. I don't have any nostalgia factor weighing down on my opinion, so take that as you will. It may or may not affect my rankings:
1. (What's the Story) Morning Glory - 10/10 2. Be Here Now - 9.5/10 3. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants - 8.5/10 4. Heathen Chemistry - 7.5/10 5. Definitely Maybe - 7/10 6. Don't Believe the Truth - 6.5/10 7. Dig Out Your Soul - 5.5/10
As much as I like all of their albums, I'm unashamed to admit that I'm a sucker for hooks. Honestly, when I heard that Dig Out Your Soul was more about songs with "grooves" than singles, I was not enthused. I really can't see how their new album is a "return to form," as, to me, it sounds far more hard edged than Morning Glory. I suppose it is similar to Definitely Maybe in some respects, but I honestly find DBTT to be far more like the "old Oasis" than DOYS. They do remain my favorite band, however, and I own and listen to all of their stuff.

I'd say -
BHN DM WTSMG HC SOTSOG DBTT DOYS
Noel needs to get back on the coke as he's slowly been losing his touch since giving up the white stuff. Couple of good ones on DOYS but that's it. The efforts of the other members on DOYS just aren't good enough by a long way. OK, Liam should be allowed one an album but no more, the other two, forget it.

Definitely Maybe 9.7/10 Be Here Now 9.3/10 Two albums having a difference of .4? that's some messed judging. Definitely Maybe 10/10 - Has the singles and songs of a classic album. Got a great flow to it too. Morning Glory 9/10 - Has the singles but doesn't flow too well. Hey Now! is the biggest enigma of a track. Can't decide if i like it.. Dig Out Your Soul 9/10 - Doesn't have 5 singles in it but it definitely flows as an album. Nice rockers and mid-tempo tunes on it. While it isn't electronic music, the comparison to Kid A (Ryan Adams) is very apt. Be Here Now 8.5/10 - Good album. Overdubs are king on it, although production was a mess and lyrics arn't too good. But the album does have certain loudness of it that is hard not to admire. Don't Believe the Truth 8.5/10 - Practically the polar opposite of Be Here Now. A lot of acoustic on it and clear, undistorted melodies. Not a real sing-a-long album either but it sounds fresh and it has a few classics on it. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants 8/10 - Has a few oasis favourites on it but it is ultimately let down by the failure of PYMWYMI. Gas panic! is definitely one of oasis' best works. Although if oasis had replaced a few of the songs with bsides or other material written at the time the album could have been amazing. Heathen Chemistry 7/10 - Got a few great songs, but the back to basics feel doesn't work on this album. The guitars arn't right and a lot of the material is below par. The album is lucky in that it is saved by a few tunes (the hindu times, stop crying your heart out, little by little, songbird). the singles are top par but the rest of the album screams filler.

It's really all over the place here... but the best bets are about 3rd or 4th, or 7th. Seems to be the trend of yet.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but HC must surely be Oasis' worst album? What other album can rival the shitness of She Is Love, A Quick Peep, Force of Nature, (Probably) All In The Mind, Better Man and (arguably) BOADC? I know the singles do save it to some extent, but no other Oasis album has anywhere near as much poor quality filler as HC.

I think they balance each other out, and I'd rather have an album with some truly amazing tracks and some truly awful ones (HC) than one that, IMO, has nothing truly awful but nothing that great either (DOYS).

Heathen Chemistry is the one Oasis album I can't get through any more. For every Hindu Times and SCYHO, there's Force of Nature, She Is Love, A Quick Peep, and Better Man shitting everything up. An appalling album that I'd rather have as a 4 track EP.
(What's The Story) Morning Glory?-10/10 Definitely Maybe-9.5/10 Dig Out Your Soul-8/10 Be Here Now-8/10 Standing On The Shoulder of Giants-8/10 Don't Believe The Truth-7/10 Heathen Chemistry-3/10
I'd rate all of the albums pretty highly, save HC.
