You know what they say, when your young your liberal because you dont know shit, when your older you grow to be conservative because then you "get it" Well, well, we finally disagree. You know what else they say, which is supported by fact, the more educated one becomes, the more liberal their views become. Fact. I could spend hours typing right now but I'll say this, McCain is a fucking sellout, who is for some reason standing firmly behind a party who threw him to the wolves on many occasions in the past. He should be finishing his 2nd term in office rather than beginning his first. Instead, his filthy, dumb party decided to go with the least experienced, ignorant douche to ever stand office, we call him President Bush . And as for that company c*nt Sarah Palin, she is about the definition of a puppet. There is a reason she will now only due interviews on McCain's side. She has no real views of her own, and she has pretty much stated this. When asked about Bush's foreign policy she looked like a deer in headlights and pretty much said "it's good". And I must not make known how important this is to know. And then she cannot even name ONE magazine or newspaper she reads. She freaks out and says "all of them"!!! Obama is the first honest, respectable political candidate in years, this is why is receiving my vote. I got suckered into voting for Bush last time around in the midst of his party's fear mongoling. That won't happen again. I am not a liberal, nor conservative, I vote on morals and integrity. Obama 08. * ha they changed C*nt to vagina. That is not at all a fact

That is not at all a fact[/quote]
President Bush’s support is found in the states with the lowest education levels. In the 2000 national election, states with lower college graduate populations such as West Virginia (15.1%), Kentucky (18.9%), and Louisiana (19.6%) all voted Republican. States with highest percentages of college graduates--- Connecticut, (36.8%), Massachusetts, (36.6%); and California, (30.6%) voted Democratic. There were exceptions to this but they were few: Colorado, with a population of 35.5% college graduates went for Bush. Wisconsin, where just 25% of residents holds a college degree, went for Gore. But if you added up all the “Red” states in 2000, you’d find, on average, only 24.7% of their populations hold a college degree. And if you averaged the percentage of “Blue” State college-educated, the figure is 31.2%. That’s a significant difference. Massachusetts, which may have the most universities per acre, voted strongly Democratic that year. South Dakota, with many fewer colleges, was Bush Country. According to ABC News of Nov. 14, “College graduates voted 53-45 percent for Democrats---the Democrats’ best margin in this group in exit polls since 1982.” ABC added, “voters by a 14-point margin were more apt to say they were voting to show opposition to Bush(36%) than to show him support(22%)…the anti-Bush voters were great enough in number to make the difference for the Democrats.”

what i hate the most is how some view obama as an elitist because he went to an ivy league school. well excuse him for working hard enough to make it there because i can guarantee you that he didn't get in due to family connections, unlike dubya. it's almost as if people want a dumb president. i'd rather have one of the "elites" run the country than someone you'd rather have a beer with.

Since when does a College Degree determine weather your smart or not? That is completly irrelevant

I didn't say smart, I said educated, making it completely relevant.

MY. MIND. how someone raised on food stamps and by a single mom can be labelled an elitist but the guy who owns 13 cars and has 7 homes ('it's 7, right?') is for the little guy.

the US president doesen't have the power to make the UK go to war I don't see what has to with this poll which concerns the 2008 Presidential Election in the USA. All I wanted to know is who this Blair guy is. Did a google search, found he was President of some Eastern European country, Scotland or England or somewhere. Whatever, the point is, it's not relevant to the issue in this thread. I'm voting McCain. I'm a big fan of Bush, he's done a great job, and McCain is the closet to Bush in this race: Bush removed an evil dictator and replaced it with a DEMOCRACY in Iran; the BUSH DOCTRINE (where we can launch a preemptive strike on a rouge nation) has massively boosted our defense; TAX CUTS which have greatly helped rich families in tough economic times; BANNING all flavored cigarettes except Menthols etc. A great President, in fifty years he will be seen by the media as the force for good he is. so.... this isn't true but if it WAS, how come if we've set up a democracy in iraq (it is IRAQ, by the way, not iran.... unfortunatley ahmadinejad is still in power over there) WE'RE STILL OVER THERE? do you know anything? holy shit is this comment even real? serious question.

The term "Ivy League" really pisses me off. I could rant all day about how stupid and useless that term is.
The top 100 schools are all in the same league. Duke is as good as Harvard, as is Georgetown, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Bucknell, Lehigh, Tufts, Brandeis.....George Washington, ahem....if you're in the top 100 schools, you're in the top 1-2%.....
The people who keep banging on about Ivy Leagues are fooling themselves. I hate elitists pricks.

Ivy League is the name of the sports affiliation. Just as how those schools in those leagues have geographical connections, the Ivys have geographical connections as well as being amongst the oldest schools in the country. Thats why schools like Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Duke and Stanford, which all easily compare to a Harvard or Yale academically, are not considered "Ivy League".

"I can see russia from my house" "The only difference between a pitbull and a hockey mom... lipstick" " [on global warming] I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made."
palin is only being used to strengthen the ticket (targeting women in general as well as the demographic of home-working mothers).. she actually disagrees with mccain on many issues. if she is elected, i will lose a lot of faith in Americans. the prospect of her being the president of the US should be a nightmare for the citizens of not only America, but the world.

Thats why schools like Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Duke and Stanford, which all easily compare to a Harvard or Yale academically, are not considered "Ivy League". I know that. My point is that rankings dont matter, especially when any school within the top 100 is of equal quality. GW was my first choice - toured it 3 times and loved it every single time. Went Early Decision to GW. My point - it's ranked around 52, but I didn't care. I liked the school, I liked the setting, city, and "campus", the political involvement, just everything.....Since i went early decision, I didn't really get any other decisions from other colleges, but I basically had a chance to go to a school much higher ranked Uni - I even seriously considered Tufts (although that would have been a long shot) If you only pick a school because of it's reputation and not because you truly like it, then there's something wrong. As I sit here right now in my Junior year, thinking about all that work and reading i really should be doing, I've come to the conclusion that if you offered me a choice between GW and Harvard, I would pick the former every time.....

I'm kind of with you on this one, it's not that I think Obama is that great but it really is time for some serious changes and we ain't gonna get them with McCain in the white house and a democrat controlled Senate & House of Reps. If it had been McCain in 2000 I would have voted for him. As it stands Texas is 99.9% sure going to McCain so I'm not even sure I'll go through the hassle of cazlling the embassy and getting the absentee ballot, you know what I mean?

I'm reminded of that South Park episode where the class has to vote for a new school mascot; the choices being 1: A turd sandwhich and 2: A duchebag. I don't remember but either Stan or Kyle thought the whole thing as being stupid and didn't want to vote. Brilliant.
