We've been waiting 3 years. Surely it won't hurt just to hold out 3 months?
We'll all hear it soon enough without leaks. So why get so angry?
Oh and for the record, stop being so bloody grumpy about these hoaxers. Even the Americans here are acting like the English! ;D

the hoaxers do make for light entertainment when things go quiet so i just play along with them, its fun making them look twats when they post something so very wrong
i personally dont want a leak anytime soon theres nothing to gain from it.

I want the whole album now.. But I doubt it will leak, or it will only a week before the record's released... See THE VERVE, the album is out in 3 weeks and there's no single trace of a leak... Coldplay's VIVA LA VIDA? Only leaked a week or 5 days before it was released..

I hope it doesnt leak. I'll cope for another 2 months without hearing it but if it does leak I'll have to download it. Cant resist when you know its there and available to me although I'd rather that was on the official release.

I wish I could resist the leak temptation... and discover the CD the day its released. Last time I did it with an Oasis album it was for SOTSOG.. 8 years ago..

I'd love it if it didn't leak at all. Can you imagine all the Oasis' fans rushing out on the day of release, unanimously hearing it together...such harmony. Be a fucking day to remember anyway, especially considering how unlikely that is. I reckon if it leaks: Good. If it doesnt: Good. Cant lose

I want it to leak because it comes out a day later in the US which is gay. So you all will be raving about the tunes while I'm still stuck with nothing. - If that happens, one of you kind souls better PM me the album, and I do promise to buy it the following day when it's released. I just don't want to miss the ultimate excitement on here. Cheers

Fingers crossed the same will happen with DOYS. It came in handy with Heathen Chemistry because I was going to the Belfast gig the Saturday before the release and was able to listen to the album on the way there.

Cheers no leak, no leak... using that logic mate... it would be the same thing as if the cd leaked and holding out for the official release anyway. everyone (well, the ones that heard the leak) will be raving about it and you would be stuck waiting for the release i am going to wait this time, and it will be exciting to read all the reviews/discussions on here before I hear the album! will make the anticipation that much greater/better!

To me if it leaks, it leaks, if it doesn't it doesn't.
What I'm really concerned about is hearing The Shock of The Lightning when it starts to rotate on airplay. Although on August 15 it will be all over UK radio, that won't be the case where I live in Albany, NY. So if I can hear it online on the 15th and not have to wait until some local DJ decides to give it a spin I'll be more than happy.

If it leaks, I'm not going on the forum until the US release date, the temptation would be too strong. I'm probably going to skip school the day of its release, so I can buy the album and sit home all day listening to it.

The hardest thing for me will be to NOT read reviews, lyrics, magazine articles, or if a song from the album leaks here and there. I really want to experience the album completely fresh perspective. I'll listen to TSOTL but that's it...until I have the complete album in my hands...leak or no leak.
When DBTT came out...I didn't listen to the album until I had it in my hands...and that was tough to wait it out. But I read all the articles, lyrics, and opinions about the album....so...despite me not listening to it...I kinda new what to expect and I think that ruined it a bit for me. I'm going to try to be extra disciplined this time around and not listen/read anything about it...until the most important critic listens to it...me.

Why would we want a leak?
Because if two-bit journalists, radio djs etc can listen to the album before it's release date, then I don't see why I can't. I'll be putting money back into the band by buying the album, singles, gig tickets etc which is more than any journalist is going to do. If it doesn't leak I won't be bothered, if it does, damn right I'll have a listen.

If it leaks and you don't want to listen to it, don't listen to it. Nobody is forcing you to. Pretty much everybody who is an Oasis fan will still buy the CD anyway.

I'll listen to TSOTL when it leaks (or when it gets radio air play) but I won't listen to the album when it leaks. I'll read reviews but I won't listen to the leak. I've read some on the verve's new album and it has only caused me to get more excited and i still don't know what the actual songs sound like. I just wanna enjoy having the actual cd/vinyl in my hands and just seeing the photos and the liner notes and going and sitting down with a nice cold iced tea and playing the album

I don't understand the people who claim if it leaks they'll STILL WAIT IT OUT.....
If the entire album leaks at once, it's most likely good quality, and thus is the exact same thing as listening to the CD Version but a couple weeks sooner.
Furthermore, for us hardcore fans, it's exciting rating the albums, reviewing the tracks, ranking the album amongst the other 6, reading reviews and interviews etc. That's why this forum exists.
If you avoid the leak, then you can partake in any of these discussions. Ever. Because when you hear "Guess I'm Outta Time" for the first time Oct 6, everyone else would have discussed it to death weeks earlier. You become ostracized.
But everyone has their own preferences. I just don't understand why one would wait it out? The music is the same no matter when you listen to it, and the ability to generate good discussions about it on this forum is a big factor for me.
