hey guys, i just wanted to let you know the feedback ive been getting from our staff after they got the chance to preview the album.
it seems they feel its a good album but not great. some of the things i heard was "the album has really heavy songs surprisingly and two nice acoustic songs", "its like their last album but with bigger drums and a guitar solos".
So it seems pretty consistent with what we have been hearing already. im trying to get more detailed info, so i will let you know if i hear anything more today.

thanx man... I hope it's true. If you can get detailed information on a song that would be great!
edit: if guys at RS are saying it's godd but not great it probably means it's HUGE!

Yeah i will ask my staff to what they think of an album theyve never heard before. Whilst Im at it I will ask John the Office Trainee how is flying pig is doing after its run in with that plane at the weekend. The poor little porker...

Cheers for that. Would these 'staff' be oasis fans. the 'feel it's a good album' makes it look as if they're unsure
Sounds good though as DBTT was only really lacking that huge sound which hopefully these drums and solo's will provide.

Thanks for the info! Let's remember that Rolling Stone (I assume that's who previewed the album) doesn't like Oasis that much and is constantly saying they are Beatle rip-off artists. So if they say it's good, I'd bump it up to great for Oasis fans. Keep the info coming!

Another 3 star RS review was likely authored for it months ago. You can already hear the canned, beatle bs- perhaps they'll reimbrace some other 30+ year old band comparisons rather than even attempt to objectively criticize the record. yawn.
I was shocked when they gave DBTT a 3 1/2 star crtique in 05'....one of the more backhanded 3 1/2 star reviews I've ever read, btw.

Eh, what do you expect. The 'heavy songs' part intrigues me.

The "good album but not great" doesn't concern me. Rolling Stone is not a publication who champions Oasis. I don't believe that you can distinguish between good and great on the first listen anyway. Time reveals the difference.

was thinking the same thing.. if you think something is good on the first listen, more often then not its great. I remember listening to be here now the first time when i was 17, I was so excited for it.. i was massivly disapointed b/c i didn't hear wonderwall and dlbia right away on it.. this day its my favorite album of all time.

thanks for (hopefully) accurate info. which were the two nice acoustic songs - got the song titles?
after twoface and theriddler's drivel, everyone on here is just gonna be even more distrusting.

you should interrogate them more mate get some more detailed info on the album we dont not know yet, but the bit about the guitar solos is great news, a slight gripe ive had with Oasis from about 2000 onwards is that there arent as many class riffs or solos on. think Shout it Out loud and The Importance Of Being Idle are the only ones that spring to mind with a good solo on em
