REM's tune is Morning Glory.
Only that one small guitar bit and that was the riff for Morning Glory.

My favorite is that he ripped off The Masterplan in Lyla and HE doesn't even know it... "And Cast Your Words Away Upon The Waves" is the exact same as "And Catch The Silver Sunlight In Your Hands" How is it the same exactly, because both have 8 words in them?

Book Of Rules by The Heptones Isn't it strange how princesses and kings In clown-ragged capers in sawdust rings While common people like you and me We'll be builders for eternity Each is given a bag of tools A shapeless mass and the book of rules sound familiar? As for this, both bands are ripping of the poem "A bag of tools" by R.L Sharp I'm guessing Noel isn't a poetry reader tho, so most likely he got it from the heptones! Also here's Lyla and Sitting Here In Silence (On My Own)!

I never knew that Kinks video existed! The first funeral director at the door even looks like Rhys Ifans! I'd presume now that Oasis' video is a homage to the kinks as TIOBI takes alot from the kinks sound

I've just always heard the vocal melody of "Calling all the stars to fall... etc" as the start of Street fighting man

Most of the tunes they rip off they end up making better new versions themselves so hey who gives a fuck? No point letting wham waste a good melody. I'll still buy it.

I'm pretty sure the end of She's Electric is meant to be exactly the same as "With a Little Help from My Friends". Genius.

I'm pretty sure the end of She's Electric is meant to be exactly the same as "With a Little Help from My Friends". Genius. Funnily enough, Radcliffe & Maconie's Radio 2 show is talking about this - deliberate musical homages, although the line where paying tribute to your influences and outright theft is an easy one to cross. When Maconie propsed the topic for deabte on the show I thought immediately of the Imagine piano intro to Don't Look Back In Anger - as clear a deliberate homage as any in the Oasis catalogue. I remember Noel saying about it that 50 per cent was put in there 'just to piss people off' and 50- per cent to say 'look, *this* is where songs like DLBIA come from.' On that topic, in She's Electric, the middle-eight ('And I want you to know...') cops George Harrison's vocal melody from While My Guitar Gently Weeps ('I don't know why....'). I frequently go back to what Keith Cameron says on the DM DVD -every songwriter does it (to an extent) Noel's just frequently very honest about it.
