BHN should open with that huge syn bass thing blasting for about a minute then they walk out and start playing it. And stand by me/ Don't go Away liam could still sing

BHN is the greatest opener for a show. They should also do Stay Young.

I couldn't concur more. I would love to hear any song off BHN, but they won't do it. I hate to be negative, but Liam can't sing anything off that album anymore. Noel could pull it off, but Liam is not an option. I don't think it's necessarily a matter of whether Liam can sing anything of BHN, since he struggles with songs off each album. Bottom line is Noel for some reason has a bug up his ass about the album, so I wouldn't bet on seeing anything from it. We're going to get the same standard setlist this time around: 2-3 from DM 2-3 from MG 0 from BHN 0 from SOTSOG 1 from HC 2 from DBTT and the remaining 5 or 6 from DOYS oh, and My Generation as an encore........ again

Anything from BHN would be superb, but I'll believe it when I hear it.
What I would really like is to hear slightly different songs each gig on the tour - not a completely different set list every night, but just a couple of songs here, a couple there. I know they did that a little the last tour, but I'd like to see more of it.

BHN is a great album, I'd love to hear a few songs (DYKWIM, AATW, DGA, SBM) at a show. It won't happen though.

Cum on Feel The Noise, I Am The Walrus, My Generation, it's a trend. But I'd much rather they finish with Rock 'n' Roll Star or something like that.

I would like to see them walk out to a minute of helicopter noises and then do a helicopter-infused Morning Glory-DYKWIM medley. But it's not happenin', folks.

funny, i was thinking of bringing this topic up a few days ago! great minds think alike. ill never forget when i saw them live in sydney '98. noel did an unbelievable acoustic set which included a medley of setting sun/fade in out, done with an indian zither drone and bongos backing. it was totally original and beautiful. i think you can see a version of this on youtube done later on in the tour in south america.
fade in out would definitely be my choice, either done like the above, of a rocking version like at GMEX or wembley arena.

i think liam may still be able to bs his way through 'stand by me' , especially if they have noel turned up loud enough during the chorus

Get an orchestra on the tour and play All Around The World. That would be epic!

I go along with that, but it really seems like they stick with songs from DM & WTSMG mixed with 6 or 7 tracks from the latest album. On the HC tour they played The Hindu Times, Force of Nature, Hung in a Bad Place, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Little By Little, Born on a Different Cloud and Better Man, yet on the DBTT tour they dropped the lot but surprisingly brought Songbird into the equation. I'd definitely like to see more of an emphasis on BHN at live gigs, not just the occasional Stand By Me. It's a shame, I think it was such a great album and it's way overlooked. No they did play Stop Cryng Your Heart Out and Little By Little quite regularly on the last tour

I can see them playing D'you Know What I Mean as it fits the groove sound and also Liam could still sing it live. Not any others though - My Big Mouth or Don't Go Away? No chance (unfortunately)

I think other than not being able to sing some of the tunes... Noel has said in the past that Liam has a lot of trouble remembering the words to songs, I mean there is a bootleg (which I cannot not remember for the life of me right now) that liam forgets the words to wonderwall, YES WONDERWALL LOL. It might be good for Liam to get a book, or a teleprompter like a lot of lead singers have...

It was cool to hear Songbird that night though.

Hmm, the Stop Crying Your Heart Out version they did in Milan in '05 was very good though.

I think the acoustic guitars will be left home for this tour. I can see them playing one of Liam's songs off DOYS instead. I'm hoping for atleast 6 or 7 off DOYS...

and it's not like i can't understand them having to play live forever, wonderwall, anger, and the lot stateside, they are pretty much pigeonholed into playing those songs in the states.
but i mean when they play in the rest of the world, surely they could mix in a few new ones here and there, that's all i'm saying.

Agreed with the OP. It's interesting because I can't really stand BHN as an album. But live - those songs are begging to be played live... I'd love to hear Fade In-Out, but DYKWIM? or Stand By Me would also do the trick for me. Just not Magic Pie. Please
